Kanye West has updated fans about a possible hiatus from X. The rapper, in a February 25, 2025 tweet, announced that he was taking a break from X as his posts kept getting deleted. He likened his exit to Micheal Jordan’s retirement from the NBA.
“I quit Twitter for now. They just deleted my last tweet. Jordan leaving the NBA.”
Kanye West's latest tweet comes after a series of controversial comments on X, where he declared himself a N*zi and expressed love for Adolf Hitler. His antisemitic and contentious comments resulted in his account getting deactivated and some posts deleted on February 10.
He seemed to rescind his N*zi statements on February 20, 2025. By the next day, he was back to making more controversial posts.
Kanye West's post about leaving X has been met with some degree of skepticism from Netizens. @nojumper shared a screenshot of the rapper’s post on their X account and @JinyoJr tweeted in reply;
“You’ll be back.”
Other X users shared the same sentiments as they were sure that the controversial rapper would be back to the platform sometime soon.
“Leaving for the 5th time, will be back next week. This guy don’t even gaf about making music no more. His entire career is hanging by the radical tweets he makes,” @KIA_Momo123 stated.
“He say this every other day.” @DankDegen added.
“He’ll be back in 4 business days,” @RocTheDon responded.
Netizens also expressed that they were glad to see him gone from X.
“Thank God he stopped hahaha. Dudes clearly lost it,” @slope_ezv2 tweeted.
“Bye Felicia,” @OriginallyMike added.
“A 47 year old bipolar N*zi. Lol I think we’ll be ok Mr West. Please don’t forget your meds,” @FleelixTrinidad added.
Others stated that they didn’t care whether he left or not.
“Bruh thinks he’s still prime Kanye nobody cares anymore. He’s turning into that drunk uncle you just say “aight unc” when they talking,” @JTgo15 replied.
“Who cares? His rants aren’t hitting like they used to,” @mamamianola tweeted.
“I’m actually tired of Kanye. We could’ve left dawg in 2024 tbh,” @kutit0ut stated.
Kanye West declared himself a N*zi, posted Swastika images and described Sean Combs as his idol
On February 7, 2025, the 47-year-old rapper broke the internet after he declared himself a N*zi. In a series of posts that have now been deleted, he declared his love for Adolf Hitler.
The following day, the controversial rapper posted images of a white t-shirt with Swastika graphics emblazoned across the front. The inverted HH symbol is commonly associated with the N*zi party. He described the shirt as his “greatest performance art.”
Kanye West later released a collection of t-shirts in collaboration with embattled music mogul, Sean Combs, who is facing charges of s*x trafficking, conspiracy for racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He described Combs as his idol and urged President Donald Trump to release the music mogul.
He launched another collection of shirts with “White Lives Matter” scrawled across their fronts on his Yeezy website.
Kanye West’s controversial posts led to criticism from prominent figures. Shopify shut down his Yeezy website and 33&West, his talent agency announced on Instagram that they had stopped working with the rapper.
