South Korean Twitch streamer Jinnytty, or Yoo Yoon-jin, is currently banned from Taiwan for three years. The IRL streamer opened up about the ban during a live stream chat with her followers.
Jinnytty's popularity began nine years ago when she started streaming on Twitch by playing online video games such as Hearthstone. As her fan base grew, her online fame spread from Europe to the American population. She has travelled across South Korea, Europe, and the U.S. to stream.
During the live stream, where she explained how and why she got banned from Taiwan, Yoon-jin alleged it was a company's fault that she wasn't given a work visa for a day, which led to the current situation. Keep reading to know the details from Jinnytty's live stream.
How and why did Jinnytty get banned for 3 years from Taiwan?
During the live stream, Jinnytty explained the ban in detail to her viewers. She began:
"It's just so unfair because, yeah, the lawyer in 2023, they tried to appeal like that. The appearance is a one-time thing. She didn't work in Taiwan for like multiple years. It was a company that made a mistake and didn't give a work visa, a work permit for a day. And then, you know, she wasn't aware. And then, lawyer tried to appeal because she didn't know. Like, the agent she was talking, she didn't know."
She continued to claim how the Taiwan labor enforcement pointed out that she did not check if she had a proper work permit or not. Jinnytty seemed frustrated as she said:
"But then, the Taiwan labor enforcement, they're like, 'Yeah, but still she should have asked. Like make sure that she had a work permit or not from the company. So, she's still banned for three years.' Then why did you give me work? Why didn't you give me a gold card? Anyway, yeah. Why didn't you give me a gold card to begin with after I explained everything."
Jinnytty also expressed how the officials could have informed her beforehand that she was banned, because, she claimed, they had her contact details if they needed to reach out. She concluded:
"You give and you take away, and then you could've told me last time when I left Taiwan if you banned me that time. You didn't tell me. You had my emails. You had my phone number. You didn't tell me. And then you made me waste my entire day flying there, flying back, waste my day, waste my money."
Her situation has not stopped the Korean Twitch streamer from streaming. Jinnytty is an award-winning streamer who won the title Best IRL Streamer at The Streamer Awards in 2024.
