Details from Tay-K's trial on April 1, 2025
The trial was unfolding at the Bexar County courtroom on April 1, 2025. McIntyre, who is 24 years old now, has been in prison since 2017. He sat expressionless while testimonies from both sides were being shared. The opening statements were provided by two witnesses who came to the front.
According to one witness, the m**der of Mark Anthony Saldivar happened outside a Chick-fil-A parking lot off Loop 410 in April 2017. It started off with an argument while McIntyre, his group of friends, and Saldivar were inside a black Kia. According to the lawsuit that was filed by Salvidar's mother, she stated that it was Tay-K who k***ed her son.
The prosecutors state that Salvidar was assa**ted inside the car when McIntyre demanded his photography gear. When the victim tried to escape from the car, he was sh*t d*ad by McIntyre. It was stated that Salvidar's equipment was missing from the scene.
McIntyre's legal team consisted of attorneys Gerald Goldstein and John Hunter. They countered the state's statement by saying that Tay-K acted out of self-defense when Salvidar got aggressive and damaged the car. Additionally, his team opined that the other people who were with the Texas rapper had motives to blame him since they could get plea deals for their testimony.
The witness also added that they saw the fight break out inside the car before hearing a gunshot. To this, McIntyre's attorneys shot back, asking how they could be sure it was Tay-K who pulled the trigger. While a bullet casing was found inside the car, the forensic analysis was done years after the incident occurred.
While the case is unfolding, more evidence will be brought to light, as well as more witnesses will come out with their testimonies. In case McIntyre is found guilty of the capital murder of Mark Anthony Saldivar, he will be sentenced to lifetime imprisonment without parole. He will not be facing the death penalty because at the time of the crime, McIntyre was still a minor.
