Amid the ongoing drama after Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was spotted with an employee at a Coldplay concert, jokes and memes about the matter have been going viral on the internet.

Jumping on the bandwagon, an X user, Alex Cohen, claimed that he was fired from the company on July 17.

Alex Cohen's LinkedIn profile mentions that he is the CEO and co-founder of Hello Patient, an Austin-based company endeavoring to change healthcare communication. Before that, he was an investor at ACBM Fund. Cohen was a student at the University of Florida, where he studied Finance and Management Information Systems.

In a lengthy X post, Cohen jokingly wrote:

“I was fired from Astronomer today. I ran our company’s events team. Turns out our CEO and Head of HR were having an affair and got caught at the Coldplay concert that I bought the company tickets to. They blamed me for getting caught and fired me on the spot. Taking some time to reflect and will start looking for jobs soon!”

The community note posted by X clarified that Cohen was not employed at Andy Byron’s company. Meanwhile, another platform user, Alejandro Cabral, shared screenshots from Cohen’s LinkedIn profile, asking why his work experience section did not mention Astronomer.

For those unversed, Cohen has made similar jokes in the past. For instance, in 2023, he claimed he was sacked from Twitter, where he was the designer-in-charge.

Cohen also shared a LinkedIn post, seemingly targeted at Andy Byron’s concert incident, writing:

“In light of recent events, I just cancelled our next team outing, which was supposed to be a fun night at one of the upcoming Coldplay concerts.”

The truth about Andy Byron’s Truth Social account and what we know about the Astronomer employee he was with at the concert

Alex Cohen shared a screengrab of a Truth Social post written by Andy Byron. In the post, Byron had written:

“The Radical Left Tech Press has struck again! Just like the FAKE and totally discredited hit pieces they've run on every successful founder, the jealous ex-employees, the anonymous Glassdoor warriors (who were probably fired for underperformance!), and all the startup "scandals" designed to tear down winners - this so-called 'Kiss Cam Controversy' is nothing but a HOAX. A total setup!”

In the caption, Alex Cohen wrote:

“Wow I can't believe the CEO of Astronomer is doing damage control on Truth Social.”

However, this post by Andy Byron seems to be counterfeit, as the X community note mentioned that the Astronomer CEO does not have an account on Truth Social. Other X users also commented on Cohen’s post, sharing screenshots from Truth Social, where they couldn’t find Byron’s account.

The woman with whom Byron was spotted is Kristin Cabot, a Chief People Officer at Astronomer. When she joined the company in November 2024, she shared a LinkedIn post, writing:

“I have been energized in my conversations with Andy Byron and the Astronomer leadership team about the opportunities that exist here, including aiding our employees’ career development. I prefer to think of my role as people strategy versus traditional human resources, as the real magic happens when you align the people strategy with the business strategy.”

Before joining Byron’s company, she was an Advisory Board Member at Privateer Rum. Cabot was also a Chief People Officer at Neo4j. She was a student at Gettysburg College, where she earned her degree in Political Science.
