Nicki Minaj and husband Kenneth Perry's lawyer is slamming Tyrone Blackburn for allegedly trying to "embarrass" them.

The duo is still facing legal woes stemming from a lawsuit levied against them by Jennifer Hough back in 2021. The latter accused the couple of trying to intimidate her into rescinding her statements, so as to get Petty off of a S*x Offender Registry. The latter was convicted of attempted r*pe in the first degree 30 years ago and served a four-year stint behind bars.

According to Hot New Hip Hop, Petty's lawyer, Steven Isser said of Hough's lawyer, Tyrone Blackburn:

“[Hough’s] motion papers also are littered with inaccurate statements, in an attempt to garner media attention and to attempt to embarrass [Petty] and his wife."

The Anaconda singer and Petty began dating back in December 2018, and the news came as a shock to several fans at the time, seeing as he is a convicted criminal. The pair tied the knot a year later, in October 2019, and within a few months, they announced that they were pregnant. They have since welcomed a son, whom Nicki lovingly refers to as "Papa Bear."

Everything we know about Nicki Minaj and husband Kenneth Petty's legal woes

According to Hot New Hip Hop, Nicki Minaj was dismissed from Hough's lawsuit back in 2022, though the latter is now seeking restitution from Petty in the form of punitive damages. AllHipHop has reported that the latter's legal team is now retorting, alleging that Hough's recent discovery request was made with Nicki's personal and financial information in mind:

“[Hough] did not seek [Petty’s] tax returns or employment history until after the cut-off for discovery had passed,” Isser said.

The filing also refuted Hough's claims that Petty is on Nicki's payroll as an employee:

“Plaintiff’s unsupported speculation that [Petty] was Ms. Minaj’s manager entitled to 20% of her gross earnings and/or was a paid security guard for his wife is absurd and is not supported by [Petty’s] testimony at his deposition or any other evidence,” it says, according to the outlet.

Petty has, however, conceded to receiving “allotments” from Nicki Minaj's company, though he claims these were not of a professional nature and as such, should be exempt from reporting:

“I offered to provide [Hough] with a certified list of such payments (an Affidavit), in lieu of production of the joint tax returns,” Isser added.

As reported by the outlet, at the time of writing, the presiding judge has yet to issue a ruling.
