Actress Jaime King will have to complete a six-month rehab program as part of her custody battle with ex-husband Kyle Newman, according to E! News. King filed for divorce in 2020, and it was finalized in 2023.

The former couple has two children, James Newman and Leo Newman. The judge ruled that Jaime King must complete a dr*g and alcohol program along with regular testing, aftercare, a 12-step program, and a 26-week parenting course. Additionally, she must undergo counseling.

Kyle Newman was granted sole custody of their two sons. Meanwhile, King is allowed supervised visits three times a week. Per the court order, approved supervisors include three of her family members and Newman's brother.

In 2020, Jaime King submitted a domestic violence prevention petition and an emergency motion regarding custody and visitation. That year, Newman arranged an intervention at their home, telling family and friends that King was struggling with addiction.

She stated that she agreed to attend treatment to prove she wasn’t using dr*gs. After testing at the facility showed no substances in her system, she was discharged within a few days.

According to People Magazine, in his filing, Newman accused King of having a serious substance abuse problem and refusing to seek proper treatment. He also alleged that during her pregnancy with Leo, doctors discovered their unborn child was affected by her reported dr*g use and had a congenital heart defect requiring immediate surgery after birth.

Jaime King chose Taylor Swift to be the godparent of Leo

Jaime King chose Taylor Swift as the godmother to her second son, Leo. Speaking to Access Hollywood in 2022, King explained that she chose Taylor Swift as her son's godmother because she believed the singer was a perfect choice and someone who would stay committed to him.

Besides that, she has been vocal about motherhood. When she was asked to explain her reasons, she said:

“I am very vocal about it because when I was like basically 26-year-old, I got pregnant for the first time, I lost that baby and went through so many miscarriages and I felt like some part of me was broken. I don’t know what it is about being a woman but there’s this idea that like you know, our gift or whatever it is to be able to, you know, to give birth to children.”

Jaime King revealed that she had been ill for a long time before doctors finally diagnosed her with endometriosis, PCOS, and adenomyosis. Previously, she felt anxious after speaking publicly about her condition. That was before a magazine cover story was released, but she was worried about the stigma surrounding these health issues.

According to InTouch Weekly, Kyle was uncomfortable with King's partner, Austin Sosa, being a supervisor but was open to reconsidering. Jaime King is allowed to have FaceTime calls with her sons on days she does not see them, limited to 20 minutes. Both parents also agreed to avoid speaking negatively about each other in front of their children or involving them in conflicts.
