Here's what we know about the lawsuit and Christina Fulton's claims against Nicolas Cage and Weston Coppola Cage

According to a report by the BBC about the lawsuit, Christina Fulton sued Nicolas for negligence. She filed the lawsuit stating that Cage could not focus on their son's history of mental and psychological health concerns. Despite being conscious of Weston's disorders, his father supported him financially and allowed his violent acts.

Nicolas Cage's lawyer, Brian Wolf, spoke to BBC and described the lawsuit as "absurd and frivolous." In this interview, he shared that the actor has no control over his son's behavior. He said:

"Weston Coppola is a 34-year-old man."

The attorney added:

"Mr Cage does not control Weston's behavior in any manner and is not responsible for Weston's alleged assault of his mother."

On the other hand, Christina sued her son for assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligent infliction of emotional distress, according to a report by PEOPLE. While filing the lawsuit, the actress called her son a "300-pound professional fighter".

Joseph Farzam, Christina Fulton's lawyer, stated to BBC. Calling it a "unique situation," he emphasized Weston's history of assault violence.

He said:

"Weston has a history of violence and his father has not stopped him, but enabled him, bailed him, and made the situation much worse."

In this conversation, Joseph highlighted parents cannot be held accountable if their adult children are found guilty of wrong deeds. However, he chimed in, stating that parents can be called for the same and held in charge if the child suffers from mental disorders and is unable to be on their own.
