On Thursday, March 20, 2025, Yella Beezy was arrested in connection to the 2020 murder of 28-year-old Mo3, real name Melvin A. Noble. Yella Beezy, whose real name is Markies Conway, was charged with capital murder in connection to murder-for-hire. He was accused of paying Kewon Dontrell White to shoot and kill Mo3.
According to CNN, on November 11, 2020, Mo3 was shot on Interstate 35 in Dallas by a suspect initially described as an “adult Black male." On the day of the killing, Mo3 was in his car when the suspect approached him, impelling the rapper to exit the vehicle and run on the freeway. During the chase, the suspect reportedly shot the victim multiple times before fleeing the scene. The rapper was rushed to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
On December 10, 2020, Kewon Dontrell White, 21, was arrested in connection with Mo3’s death. A year later, Devon Maurice Brown was arrested in connection to the rapper's death. At the time of writing this article, both men are yet to be tried for the murder.
While Yella Beezy was not arrested immediately after Mo3’s murder, fans have long speculated that the Dallas-based rapper was involved in the 2020 incident due to an alleged long-standing beef with the late rapper.
Fans believe the beef even led to a lawsuit initiated by the late rapper's manager, Brandon Rainwater, over an alleged assault in January 2020, which occurred months before the rapper was killed.
Per multiple reports, the manager alleged Beezy and his crew assaulted him at a Dallas strip club before bragging about the incident in a video. The incident reportedly left Rainwater with a dislocated hip. In the wake of the recent arrest, here’s what Yella Beezy and the late rapper have said about their feud.
What Yella Beezy and Mo3 have said about alleged beef
Fans believe Yella Beezy and Mo3's rivalry stemmed from coming up in the same Dallas scene and vying/competing for audience attention. The duo also dissed each other on multiple tracks and on social media. According to a Reddit site, a fan alleged:
“Yeah ik that MO3's head started getting big, and he was talking a lot of s*it on social media, just didn't know if it was 100% that, that got him killed.”
In a 2024 interview with Can I Vent? Yella Beezy was asked about the late rapper's death. When asked why the rapper hasn’t acknowledged the late rapper before or after his death, Beezy said:
“What was the point?”
It was also noted that the late rapper was also dismissive of him when he was alive, adding that the late rapper was jealous of his success.
However, in a previous interview, when asked if he got along when the late rapper was alive, Beezy said:
“He and I never had no problem.”
When asked about the late rapper's “huge” impact on the Dallas music scene after his death, Beezy responded by saying:
“It was a big hit. that was a big a** impact."
In a 2019 Vlad TV interview, Mo3 addressed the rumors that he and Yella Beezy were embroiled in a feud. The rapper denied the beef rumor, stating:
“It was nothing”
When asked about Yella Beezy’s 2018 shooting, where the rapper was shot three times while driving on the highway, the late rapper said:
“You gotta stay outta the way. n***** get hit up every day. It’s the world. You gotta stay outta the way man.”
The late rapper also reacted to mentioning Yella Beezy in another interview, explaining he was only trying to clear up the rap beef rumors. He said:
"I got no rap beef with anybody. They were just..all it was something they heard, you know. They’re not industry. My job is to report like the news, so you know they just going out when they heard you know. So like now I Just cleared it up on my interview.” He added “Ain’t no rap beef.”
In last year’s interview, Beezy stated he was only messing around when it came to his altercations with the late rapper, noting even if they had ignored their differences, they would never be on the same side.
