Recognized for displaying luxury properties and lifestyle content, YouTuber Erik Van Conover has been arrested for an alleged m*rder attempt. As reported by The Daily Mail, Police Sergeant Brian Moffitt revealed details of the incident:
‘While Officer Emmett exited his vehicle, he moved around to the rear of his cruiser, and you, Mr. Conover, then backed his vehicle rapidly, pointed it directly at Officer Emmett, and accelerated at him, striking him at a reasonably high rate of speed."
Moffitt also revealed that authorities have potential evidence of the incident, noting:
"We’re very fortunate that an amateur drone operator was in the air when he saw the interaction and was able to capture it on video."
In a new video that is surfacing on social media, Erik Van Conover can be seen defending himself in footage shared by Collin Rugg. During his court hearing, he lifted the police paperwork and claimed it had been "falsified." Appearing overwhelmed, he added:
"If anyone dares try to test my mental competence, I will eviscerate every single person with my intelligence right now. And that's not being egotistical."
He added,
"This seems to be a massive misunderstanding. I’m exactly who I say I am. I’m a YouTuber."
Following the alleged accident, patrol officer Cameron Emmett was transported to the nearest hospital, where he was treated for a leg injury. Conover has been held in "preventive detention" and is due to appear in court again next week.
After his arrest, Conover had a visible outcry during his trial, referring to himself as a "public figure." Per other news outlets, he was previously arrested for "drunk driving," which he has denied, stating that he has been sober for more than 1,000 days.
