Michael Williams, a rapper from Brooklyn known as Sheff G, has admitted guilt to charges of attempted murder and conspiracy in a big gang case, per Fox News. His plea bargain in Brooklyn Supreme Court means he'll spend five years in jail and then have five years of supervision after release. The prosecutors wanted him to serve 20 years.

The case is part of a larger 140-count charge against 32 people said to be in the 8 Trey Crips and 9 Ways gangs. The Brooklyn District Attorney's Violent Criminal Enterprises Bureau and the NYPD's Gun Violence Suppression Division led this investigation. It has resulted in many arrests and convictions linked to gang violence in the borough.

Sheff G pleads guilty and accepts five-year jail sentence amid ongoing gang conspiracy

Law enforcement officials say Sheff G played a key part in planning violent assaults. They claim he drove shooters to crime sites and helped them escape. Prosecutors showed digital proof, like texts and social media posts where the rapper bragged about gang shootings. The camera footage also backed up the case against him.

Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez emphasized the impact of gang violence on local communities, stating that Sheff G used his influence and financial resources to facilitate criminal activity.

"Notoriety could not shield this defendant from justice. He used his fame to fund and direct violence, terrorizing our streets. Brooklyn will not tolerate gangs that endanger our communities."

Per Rolling Stone, seventeen other defendants have already pleaded guilty in connection to the case, while 14 additional cases remain active. Also facing charges is fellow rapper Tegan Chambers, who performs as Sleepy Hollow professionally.

Sheff G, 26, is scheduled to be sentenced on August 13, 2025. His conviction marks a major step towards tackling some serious violence in the area of Brooklyn.
