American YouTuber and media personality James Stephen Donaldson, commonly known as MrBeast, is widely known for his videos, which mostly include different kinds of challenges. Recently, MrBeast shocked and left the netizens polarized with his bizarre viral debate about who would win in a fight – one hundred human beings or a silverback gorilla?
The bizarre viral debate started after MrBeast posted a picture of himself, a huge silverback gorilla, and a bunch of pumped-up, angry, shirtless men looking at the giant animal on X (formerly Twitter), with a caption that said, "Need 100 men to test this, any volunteers?"
We have shared MrBeast's X post below. Check it out.
People have been debating the matter not only on X but also on other social media platforms like TikTok. Some people strangely agreed by saying that there is a chance that humans could win, whereas most people disagreed, saying that a hundred humans cannot defeat a full-grown silverback gorilla, some leaning towards the fact that a gorilla has a powerful bite force, even stronger than a lion.
As the netizens are curious about silverback gorillas, let's move ahead and learn a few things about them. The mountain gorillas, also known as the silverback gorillas, are originally found in Africa's Virunga Mountains, which span across Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and are also found in Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
The bite force of a silverback gorilla is 1300 PSI, and the punch force is between 1300 PSI and 2700 PSI. A full-grown male silverback gorilla can weigh up to 350 lbs, whereas a female can weigh up to 180 lbs. Not to mention, a full-grown silverback gorilla can be 6 ft tall. Other than that, their diet mainly includes leaves, stems, and shoots. They also eat ants, fruits, snails, rotting wood, and so on.
PETA calls out MrBeast on social media regarding his 100 men vs a Gorilla debate

As MrBeast's post on X went viral regarding his 100 men vs a Gorilla debate, it left the netizens polarized. Some people took a humorous take on the matter while coming up with funny comments. However, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) did not find MrBeast's post funny at all, and on the contrary, the American animal rights non-profit organization condemned the post and called out the YouTube content creator by commenting:
"100 men vs. a gorilla? Maybe try 100 reasons to leave animals out of your content instead…"
