The internet reacts as a Russian YouTuber, Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, is spotted "wildin' out" before his arrest in the Philippines.
In a recently surfaced clip, Russian Youtuber Vitaly Zdorovetskiy was spotted creating a ruckus at a McDonald's before his arrest in the Philipines. In the video, you can see the 33-year-old Youtuber running around the McDonald's before he breaks into the kitchen in an attempt to cook his own meals. Inside, he starts playing with the food and the utensils, disrupting the employees and not leaving as they request, claiming that he is the manager.
He finally finishes making some type of food, packs it, and heads out. This incident is just part of a long list of alleged public nuisances that have landed the social media star in trouble.
Vitaly Zdorovetskiy Arrested
Earlier this month, on April 3, Vitaly was arrested at a hotel in Pasay City after being declared an “undesirable" foreign national. Philippines Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla passed the decision to not deport him after he was detained by the Bureau of Immigration due to acts he committed and circulated online.
“He will remain there for now in the Bureau of Immigration detention facility in Muntinlupa while he awaits his trial here. We will not deport him. He will be held accountable under the law here in the Philippines," he stated.
The Youtuber who goes by his YouTube tag VitalyzdTv, has allegedly been accused of multiple charges of harassment, assault, acts of demeaning and disrespecting locals, causing public disturbances in different places, as well as stealing small items and leaving negative reviews for local businesses, all of which was of course recorded and posted online. In the name of pranks, he reportedly has charges including unjust vexation, alarm and scandal, and attempted theft. In the footage presented during his briefing, he can allegedly be seen acting in an aggressive manner toward a security guard and an elderly woman in Bonifacio Global City. Jonvic Remulla further stated,
The time when foreigners could just disrespect Filipinos is over. This is an example that we are serious, in our own country. We will not let them belittle us. Zdorovetskiy will undergo a tactical interrogation so that we can get the identity of his cameramen. The cameraman, whom I think is Filipino, will also face charges because he is involved in the commission of a crime. We are still searching for the cameraman
Major General Nicolas Torre III of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), who facilitated Vitaly's detainment, had also earlier explained,
We have read the online outrage and we coordinated with other authorities for proper actions against the subject. We cannot just let this incident pass—his recent video filmed in BGC (Bonifacio Global City) and viral online has sparked outrage due to his alleged disruptive and inappropriate behaviour toward unsuspecting and friendly Filipinos.
Fans react to Vitaly's McDonald's video
Fans reacted to his actions just as you'd expect, with ridicule and abhorrence. They talked about his arrest and how this kind of content is not funny.
See how disrespectful he is? How are there people defending him? This is too much,- one user stated.
There’s a growing number of these streamers heading to foreign countries for the sole purpose of causing mayhem for views. They’re starting to get arrested and charged in those courts. Not a fun jail to be in.- another commented potentially talking about Johnny Somali and his recent actions in South Korea
Wouldn’t be surprised if Vitaly was banned from the Philippines after this- a netizen said referring to his other disruptive actions as well.
And now he’s looking at 24 years in prison after 3 years of prison while he awaits trial. I hope they give him the max sentence. Another user expressed.
While a frustrated user commented,- People are already underpaid, overly worked and you want to f*ck around. Couldn’t be in my country they’ll probably shoot you right there and then. This is what white privilege is, no Philippine person would dare do this because they know better.
All of these actions by Vitaly, as well as other IRL streamers like him, led to a conversation on whether there need to be stricter actions for influencers and content creators who cause disruptions in the name of content. In recent days, quite a lot of streamers have received backlash and are coming under fire for illegal or disruptive acts committed in public, which can have a negative impact on their impressionable audience.
