Alec Baldwin was recently involved in a verbal altercation with comedian Jason Scoop.

In a video posted by Scoop, he is seen dressed as Trump and confronting Baldwin. As Trump, Jason Scoop references the Rust shooting incident that claimed the life of Halyna Hutchins. The comedian asks Baldwin to kiss his ring to get a “total pardon,” and seemingly continues to provoke Baldwin. Alec Baldwin ultimately responds,

“Do you realize, my kids live in this building? But I want you to know… If the camera wasn't here, I'd snap your f***ing neck in half, and break your f***ing neck.”

The video featuring Baldwin and Scoop, which lasted a few more moments, made its way to X. Reacting to the actor and comedian’s behavior, the X users provided polarizing opinions. Some favored the comedian, while others supported The Boss Baby star.

Internet users give polarizing reactions after Alec Baldwin threatens to kill Trump impersonator Jason Scoop on camera

Baldwin's threat to the Trump impersonator divided the internet. Some found fault in the comedian’s remarks, while others criticized Baldwin and displayed their opposition.

“So Alec Baldwin can mock Trump for years, but the second someone else has fun, he loses his mind?,” a user criticized the actor.

“This guy is a ticking time 💣. He needs some anger management therapy,” another user highlighted the severity of the threat.

“Funnier than anything Alec has ever created at this point,” someone sided with Scoop.

“He can dish it out but can’t take it,” another one noted.

Many felt that Scoop had crossed a life when confronting Baldwin. A user added,

Some users also asked Jason Scoop to sue Baldwin for threatening him, but the comedian refused. Scoop wrote in an Instagram story,

“To people saying I should sue Alec Badlwin for threatening to kill me, I don’t believe in suing people. Just seems s*****. I don’t wanna sue anyone.”

Alec Baldwin has yet to respond to the controversy officially. Recently, the actor and his family were also in the news for their reality TV show, The Baldwins. Its first episode premiered on February 23, 2025, on TLC. During the episode, The Rust shooting incident also came up. Hilaria highlighted the impact that incident had on the actor’s mental health,

"Everyone who is close to Alec has seen his mental health decline. He was diagnosed with PTSD, and he says, in his darkest moments, 'If an accident had to have happened on this day, why am I still here? Why couldn’t it be me?'"

The shooting incident happened during the filming of Rust in 2021. On October 21, Baldwin was using a prop gun during a rehearsal. The revolver went off and resulted in the death of Halyna Hutchins. Afterward, the actor faced “involuntary manslaughter charges” but was acquitted in July 2024.
