Zack Hoyt, popularly known as Asmongold, has revealed why he didn't want to sign a streaming contract with any platform, including Twitch, where he began his career. The streamer began streaming on Twitch in 2011 before actively streaming as a career in 2014.

The content creator revealed during his Valentine's Day stream why he didn't want to sign a streaming contract even though numerous streamers have done so. As reported by Dexerto, the streamer stated during his stream:

"I never pursued a contract like that because I didn't like feeling committed to streaming. Like, to me, freedom in my life is the most important thing, and there is not a dollar amount that you can put on that number that would be worth it to me."

He continued:

"So, the freedom to say yes or no, to do what I want to do or not do what I want to do, to say what I want to say, or not say what I don't want to say. That is more valuable to me than any amount of money, and so that's why I didn't sign the contract, and I didn't do it. It was that and the ads."

He revealed that he wasn't like some streamers who officially had contracts with streaming platforms but didn't reveal.

"A lot of people, maybe you guys don't even know, had contracts. Like, some people I know had contracts that didn't say it, because it was like, basically, it's complicated, right? But it was nothing misleading or deceiving; it's just that they weren't made public."

And when he was faced with a billion-dollar question, the Twitch streamer replied:

"No, I don't need a billion dollars; why would I need a billion dollars?"
