A new era of humanoid robotics is unfolding, and fueling it is Protoclone, a newly launched synthetic human that can move, and "bleed", and more.

Clone Robotics, a Poland-based startup, has unveiled this bipedal musculoskeletal android. With this, the company seemingly aims to step into the field of robotic realism. The unveiling has sparked both awe and unease across the internet.

The company took to its official X (formerly Twitter) page to share a video of the Protoclone. The post read:

"Protoclone, the world's first bipedal, musculoskeletal android."

It continued in comments:

"The Protoclone is a faceless, anatomically accurate synthetic human with over 200 degrees of freedom, over 1,000 Myofibers, and 500 sensors."

Internet reacts to Protoclone

X users were quick to weigh in on the comment section of the post to share their thoughts on this latest innovation. Below are what some of them had to comment:

"Sci-Fi authors tried to warn us about stuff like this.", noted a user.
"Damn 5 minutes of seeing our world and it already hung itself", joked another.
"Why are humans so bent on creating their own destruction? Robots should never be humanoid, just in case.", stated a third.
"Should be severely regulated!", declared a fourth.
"Electromagnets and Faraday cages are starting to become effective home defense measures.", shared a fifth.

Pop Base also shared the same of Protoclone on its X page, captioning,

"Clone Robotics unveil the ‘Protoclone.’ This synthetic “human-robot” uses artificial muscles to move the skeleton’s fake bones and joints that allow it to walk on two legs. The company’s co-founder reveals that it can also “bleed to death” if stabbed."

Netizens shared mixed reactions to this post as well. One such enthusiast stated,

"Ok this is nightmare fuel"

Several other netizens also voiced their thoughts in the comment section.

"The company’s co-founder reveals that it can also “bleed to death” if stabbed. Then stab it.", expressed one.
"Why bro use the terrifying music like that", shared another referring to the background track used in the video featuring Protoclone.
"Big step, let's see how it takes the world..", remarked a third.
"Yea that just seems weird.", expressed a fourth.
"Making it too realistic and hence scary too", stated a fifth.

Standing at six feet tall, Protoclone features a polymer skeleton with artificial muscles, joints, and tendons. These are designed to mimic human anatomy with notable accuracy. Its movements, powered by over 1,000 Myofiber artificial muscles, are eerily lifelike, setting it apart from other humanoid robots like Tesla’s Optimus and Boston Dynamics’ Atlas.

Clone Robotics reportedly intends to manufacture a limited batch of 279 units under the name Clone Alpha, with preorders expected to start in 2025. While a notable number of enthusiasts are giving mixed reactions about this human-robot, its creators see it as a practical android for household and industrial tasks.
