Apple unveiled its new iPhone 16e and not all of the internet responses to its unveiling have been favorable. Despite the tech giants's claims of better performance and camera quality, a user couldn't help but notice how similar it was to the iPhone 7 causing the user to comment "This is literally the iPhone 7."

The iPhone 16e is positioned as a powerful yet reasonably priced gadget for those who don't want all the features of the flagship models. Its tiny form size, rounded corners, and single-lens rear camera system give it a familiar appearance that is similar to previous iPhone models.

According to Apple, the iPhone 16e has better processing power thanks to its upgraded CPU, which is probably a smaller version of the A16 Bionic, and longer battery life than earlier entry-level versions.

Despite all the new upgrades after the introduction, users on the internet began uploading side-by-side comparisons of the iPhone 7 and the new 16e, which sparked a meme frenzy.

A user commented,

"Be so fr bro this is literally the iPhone 7," reflecting the annoyance experienced by several long-time iPhone users who anticipated a more substantial update.

Following this more users chimed in, and another user commented,

"Apple when they release new phone every year"

along with an image of the same person using multiple filters showing how Apple has been doing it for years.

using the image as a parody of how Apple's annual upgrades sometimes seem to offer more surface-level adjustments than genuine innovation.

Another user added,

"not the iphone 7 camera with the iphone xr front,"

pointing out that even the camera system, which is often a selling point for new iPhones, seemed to be a holdover from previous versions.

While another another shared this meme along with the caption,

"Apple every year,"

suggesting a trend of little changes or in this case, no changes at all. Disguised as significant improvements.

"Good for someone who just needs a basic phone" added another user.

This proves that the iPhone 16e may nevertheless appeal to a certain demographic in spite of the criticism: those who want a dependable gadget with modern software but don't want the newest, most expensive features.

A user stated,

"They always just throw on a photography pic as the display screen and call it a new phone"

taking a jab at Apple's marketing strategy, which frequently uses eye-catching photos to advertise its latest products.
