Boosie Badazz's scholarship to honor Caleb Wilson, a Southern University student, has reportedly come under fire. According to The Advocate, Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill might take legal action against Boosie for using Caleb's name for the scholarship fund. Per Murrill, Caleb's parents claimed they weren't aware that their son's name would be used for the fund.
Boosie was in his hometown for the sixth edition of the Boosie Bash Festival, scheduled between March 21 and 23. In addition to the music festivities, the Baton Rouge-born rapper had reportedly planned to honor Caleb Wilson after he passed away in February after reportedly collapsing during an off-campus "Omega Psi Phi hazing ritual."
In her statement to The Advocate, Murrill described her,
"I intent to take legal action due to their misappropriation of his name and image to promote their for-profit event. This is not a charitable event."

According to the Louisiana First News, Boosie partnered with the Southern University Marching Band to unveil the scholarship during the Boosie Bash. He had previously told the outlet that Caleb Wilson's father allegedly "played a role" in making this year's festival possible. He explained the initiative,
“We’re just trying to lift some people up and give some notoriety on what happened… but we’re definitely in support.”
He had also told WBRZ that the "Boosie Bash" was "almost stopped" because of this incident and added,
"We’re going to do something special for him, because that’s a life lost too short. I just want to make it right."
Liz Murrill told The Advocate that while Boosie contacted Wilson's family before the festival, they were reportedly under the impression that he was going to "make a donation associated with Southern University." She alleged that Boosie failed to inform Caleb's parents that his name would be used for the scholarship and that it would be unveiled during the festival. Murrill described the situation as a "massive misrepresentation to the public."
Boosie and festival organizers have not officially responded to the news outlet's request for comments.
Caleb Wilson reportedly lost his life to a hazing incident during the Omega Psi Psi fraternity ritual. Wilson, pledging to join the Omega Psi Phi fraternity, was dumped at a hospital by men who claimed he was injured playing basketball. Police later confirmed that Wilson died from a hazing incident involving multiple chest punches.
