Playboi Carti's latest album, I Am Music, dropped a few days ago, and fans were shocked not to see a collaboration with Kanye West. In true Ye fashion, he will not be quiet about it. On March 18, 2025, Kanye took to X to post a tweet regarding Carti asking his first daughter, North West, to join in on a song. Kanye wrote,
"I DECIDED NORTH WONT BE DOING ANY SONGS WITH CARTI HOW IT LOOK FOR ME TO GET LEFT OFF THE ALBUM AND THEN HE ASK KIM TO HAVE VOCALS FROM MY DAUGHTER I DONT A F**K ABOUT NONE OF THIS INDUSTRY SHIT AND HOW ITS A SKIMS LINE IN THE FIRST PLACE AND I DONT GIVE A F**K WHAT NO COMMENTS THE MAN HAS THE FIRST AND FINAL SAY OVER HIS KIDS" - @kanyewest posted.
Netizens and Ye fans were unhappy about this new beef Kanye started with Playboi Carti. One fan even responded in the comments with a screenshot from Ye's old post in which he listed rappers who have "never crossed" him in any way, and sure enough, Carti was on the list. The user commented, saying that the list is getting shorter now.

A few minutes after Kanye West posted the above tweet about how he was not included in Carti's song, Kanye posted another tweet saying,
"HEY NORTH YOUR DAD GAVE ME MY BIGGEST SONG AND CO SIGN AND I LEFT HIM OFF OF MY ALBUM BECAUSE OF HIS TWEETS OH BUT NORTH YOU MY NIECE I GOTTA USE YOUR VOCALS" - @kanyewest added.
Kanye suspected that the real reason why Carti decided not to go ahead on the song with him was because of his antisemitic tweets that had been blowing up on X. However, he feels offended that Carti wishes to use North West's voice.
Additionally, after posting this, he reposted one of the comments in the above post. The comment reads,
"label gotta be controlling him there’s no way carti would wanna do that" - @samcantmisss said.
Netizens are curious to see how this story between Kanye West and Playboi Carti develops in the future. While some believe Carti did not make the decision, others think he is trying to distance himself from Ye.
