Dallas rapper BigXThaPlug was arrested in Arlington, Texas, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. It happened after a traffic stop led to the discovery of marijuana and a firearm.
The 26-year-old artist, whose real name is Xavier Landum, was booked into Arlington City Jail for possession of less than two ounces of marijuana. He is known for tracks like "Texas" and "Mmhmm."
The Express Tribune reports that the incident took place around 12:05 am when Arlington police pulled over BigXThaPlug’s vehicle on North Collins Street due to expired tags.
As the officer approached, they reportedly smelled marijuana. It eventually prompted them to ask the rapper and his passenger, Cleodist Landum, to exit the car. Upon searching the vehicle, officers found cigarettes, a green leafy substance in the console, and a handgun in the passenger-side door.

The passenger, Cleodist Landum, was also arrested after authorities discovered that he had an active felony warrant out of Bexar County, Texas, The Express Tribune reports. Cleodist was charged with possession of marijuana and unlawful carrying of a weapon in addition to the existing warrant.
Who is BigXThaPlug?
BigXThaPlug has gained recognition in the Texas rap scene over the past few years. The Dallas native first made waves in 2023 with his track "Texas." It gave a nod to his home state.
He followed it up with multiple projects that were notably acclaimed by music enthusiasts. It included the album Take Care, which debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200.
Some of his tracks have witnessed good reception across multiple streaming platforms. These include "Mmhmm," "Whip It," and "The Largest." "Mmhmm" has reportedly surpassed 330 million streams on Spotify.

BigXThaPlug has recently launched his record label 600 Entertainment. Additionally, he was set to hit the road with rapper Lil Baby this summer as part of the WHAM World Tour. The first two stops were scheduled in Texas.
As of now, BigXThaPlug remains in custody. No official statement has been released from his representatives or legal team.
