Some of Tekashi 6ix9ine's personal effects, which the IRS seized last year, were recently auctioned off, selling for around $500,000.

According to XXL Magazine, Market Auctions hosted the event on March 5 in Lake Worth Beach, Florida. In total, 63 of Tekashi 6ix9ine's items were up for grabs, but only two did not sell: Cuban link necklaces valued at approximately $35,000 to $50,000.

Articles sold ranged from jewelry, watches, and purses to the rapper's signature Bruce The Shark pendant, which, according to the outlet, sold for $60,000, making it the highest-selling article.

Jacob Kodner, Managing Partner of Market Auctions, said according to Global News Wire:

"Collectors and fans alike recognized these plaques as irreplaceable pieces of music history. Buyers weren’t just investing in memorabilia, they were investing in legacy.”

Tekashi 6ix9ine's (whose real name is Daniel Hernandez) personal effects were seized last year by the IRS over unpaid taxes. Bidding began as low as $250 and went as high as hundreds of thousands.

Kodner noted "a lot of interest from all over the world," revealing that those interested ranged from high school students to celebrities. In a press release ahead of the auction, he noted that there was "unprecedented interest" in the event, adding that several of these bidders wanted to maintain a "certain level of anonymity."

"Market Auctions was selected by the IRS to handle this auction, and we are committed to conducting it with the highest level of professionalism and transparency... We understand the heightened interest in this collection, and our focus is ensuring a fair and secure process for all bidders," he said at the time.

Several plaques marking Gold and Platinum certifications from the RIAA were also up for bidding, including those from his collaborations with Nikki Minaj and Trippie Redd. According to Market Auctions' official page, his BEBE RIAA Commemoration Platinum Award sold for $24,320, while the GUMMO RIAA Commemoration Platinum Award sold for $18,240.

“Each award represents a significant moment in music history, and we believe that's what drove these impressive prices,” Kodner said. “These were the ‘sleeper hits’ of the auction."

Just this Friday, Tekashi 6ix9ine took to Instagram to address the auction by calling on everyone who doesn’t “live like this” to refrain from passing remarks on what transpired:

"1 year ago when I was stick in RD 8 months the feds made a raid for the entire house because I did not report my income for 4 years. And for them it was seen how I was running and hiding in DR when the reality was that I could not leave and get to the USA. If you don't live like this without renting you shouldn't have an opinion."

Market Auctions is a premier auction house in Palm Beach County, Florida.
