Taymor McIntyre, also known as Tay-K, is a rapper who was indicted for murder and arrested in 2017. He had previously been convicted in 2019 for the murder of Ethan Walker during a home invasion robbery. McIntyre stood for his second murder trial in Bexar Country Court.
On the fifth day of his hearing on April 7, his ex-girlfriend, Joanna Reyes, testified as a witness to the murder of photographer Mark Anthony Saldivar on April 23, 2017. According to the XXL Magazine, Reyes testified that Tay-K shot Saldivar after the latter refused to give Tay-K his photography equipment. Reyes added that McIntyre, Jalen Bell, and Jeremiah Rodriguez started "hitting him," followed by McIntyre eventually shooting him.
"Taymor pulled out his gun and pointed it at Mark and asked for his bag. Mark refused to give him the bag and they all started hitting him. Taymore was hitting him with the gun."
How would Tay-K's ex-girlfriend's testimony impact the rapper's trial?

On the fifth day of Taymor McIntyre's trial, Joanna Reyes reported that she had first introduced Mark Anthony Saldivar to McIntyre. According to her testimony, she had picked up McIntryre, his friends, and Mark, who had asked her to drop him off at the "North Star Mall."
She continued to describe that when they reached "McCollough Avenues", McIntryre attempted to rob Mark and demanded his backpack while pointing a gun. After Mark denied it, they allegedly attacked him, with him being "pushed" out of the car. McIntyre allegedly also pointed the gun towards Reyes. Reyes was visibly overwhelmed during the testimony and noted,
“He opened the door and leaned out on one leg. He shot him.”
According to KSAT, Reyes fled from the scene but described others' responses to the shooting. She added,
"They were going through backpack and his wallet. They had got upset because it was only $10...They were kinda going back-and-forth. Then Jaylen applauded and gave him a high-five. They high-fived each other."
She added that Bell told Tay-K,
"You caught your first body."
She explained to the court that she was not able to testify earlier due to "fear" and was allegedly being threatened by McIntyre. She revealed accepting the plea deal in exchange for her testimony. She reportedly will face 10 years of prison, while McIntyre may face a lifetime sentence.
Tay-K's then-girlfriend provided testimony on the fifth day of his trial. The rapper who has already been convicted of a previous murder will face further consequences if he is found guilty. Joanna Reyes will also face 10 years of probation but has not been sentenced by the court yet. Her testimony is likely to influence Tay-K's sentence.
