Blue Origin has announced the crew names for their all-women flight that would take place in the Spring of 2025. Katy Perry, American singer and songwriter, will be one of the women on the spaceship. This will be the first all-women expedition to space after the solo trip made by Valentina Tereshkova, who belonged to the Soviet Union in 1963.
The other women who will be on the Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket include former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, Jeff Bezos' fianceé Lauren Sanchez, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, CBS presenter Gayle King, and film producer Kerianne Flynn.
Perry posted a photo of all the women who will be joining her on this space trip and wrote a long caption expressing her excitement and pride. Pop Base also posted the announcement to the X account and this is what one fan had to say,
"Stars amongst the stars" - @DandinAmerica stated.
Fans react to Katy Perry's space announcement with mixed feelings
Katy Perry posted on Instagram about her upcoming trip to space with five other women via the Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket.
In the caption she wrote,
"If you had told me that I would be part of the first ever all-female crew in space, I would have believed you ♥️😉" Perry said.
She continues in the heartfelt caption,
"Nothing was beyond my imagination as a child. Although we didn’t grow up with much, I never stopped looking at the world with hopeful WONDER! I work hard to live my life that way still, and I am motivated more than ever to be an example for my daughter that women should take up space (pun intended).
She ended it by writing,
"That’s why this opportunity is so incredible — so that I can show all of the youngest & most vulnerable among us to reach for the stars, literally and figuratively. I am honored to be among this diverse group of celestial sisters ✨🚀 " Perry concludes.
Katy Perry fans have expressed excitement and congratulated "Godty" on her new adventure. However, some are not impressed with the individuals chosen to go to space. Have a look at some of these comments:

"they’re just sending anyone up there huh" - @doofinc_ uttered.
"Blue Origin really turning space travel into the new celebrity flex. Huh? However it'll be interesting to see how her experience influences public interest in space travel." - @harshitdave said.
The dates for the space trip are yet to be confirmed by Blue Origin. However, it is expected that it will happen before Katy Perry's Lifetimes Tour, which will begin from April 23, 2025 to November 11, 2025.
