American sports television personality, sports journalist, and sports radio host Stephen A. Smith shared his thoughts on some of the new developments in P. Diddy's case. Cassie Ventura, who was Sean Combs' ex-girlfriend, is going to be one of the people who will be testifying against Diddy.

A clip of Smith talking about this issue on his show, The Stephen A. Smith Show, was posted on X by DJ Akademiks. According to Stephen A. Smith,

"She's the last person that I would have expected to testify on behalf of the prosecution. I thought somehow, some way, Diddy and his defense team would have prevented that part from happening. That's not going to happen," the American sports journalist expressed.

Why does Stephen A. Smith think Cassie Ventura testifying against P. Diddy is "bad " for the rapper?

Sean John Combs has been in jail for almost six months now, based on the alleged charges of racketeering conspiracy and s*x trafficking. Diddy's trial is going to happen in a few weeks in May. One of his famous ex-girlfriends, Cassie Ventura, will testify against him.

Stephen A. Smith talked about how this can be bad for the 55-year-old rapper. Smith brought a few facts and evidence to the front. He talked about the incriminating video taken from a hotel in Los Angeles. He also showed his viewers a short clip of the video where Diddy was seen chasing after Cassie with a towel around his waist.

In the video, Combs was seen dragging Cassie to the floor and kicking her while she was lying down.

Smith explained why he thought Cassie testifying against Diddy is damaging because:

"...the one person that visually incriminates him more than anything else is Cassie Ventura, his ex-girlfriend. She is the person he was seen in that video that he ran down the hallway half naked, grabbed her, yanked her, threw her to the floor, kicked her, you know... threw a vase at her. The behavior was despicable, and it's incredibly incriminating to me," Smith said.

Smith tells his viewers that he is not trying to get Diddy convicted, nor is he "trying to let him off." He is simply presenting the facts and evidence as they are to the public eye. But he also said that given the "litany of charges" against the rapper, he did not expect her to come forward and testify against him.

He tries to put the audience in the jury's shoes by asking them to imagine that the video from the hotel is the last thing they see before they close their eyes. Now, when they open their eyes, he says:

"After that, every question they ask her, they're going to believe her before they believe him. They could even play the video of him on social media, looking disheveled and contrite and saying that he was real messed up. He was in a messed up place. He had a lot going on," Smith explained.

He even posted a clip of Diddy's social media post that he shared of his own volition. Smith elaborated,

"He's in no position to refute what she says, especially if they can find their questions to her personal experiences... what the fear factor was like, these are things that you can't police, and it all impacts the jury. This is why I say he is in trouble," Stephen A. Smith added.

The last thing Stephen said was,

"It's not going to be hard for her to be very convincing, it just isn't," he ends.

Stephen A. Smith believes Cassie Ventura testifying in Diddy's trial is bad news for the rapper. The trial is set to take place in May. Smith thinks her testimony could be especially damaging because there is video evidence showing Diddy assaulting her. Since Cassie is the person seen in the video, her words may carry more weight with the jury.
