Offset requests joint custody of his three children with Cardi B amid divorce proceedings

Offset and Cardi B are battling it out in court over who gets more time with their kids.

The rapper has officially filed for joint custody of their three kids with his estranged wife, as mentioned in the court documents obtained by E! News. The motion comes amid their ongoing divorce proceedings.

Offset, whose legal name is Kai Cephus, is looking to share custody over Kulture, 6, Wave, 3, and their five-month-old daughter, whose name has yet to be disclosed.

However, he has also petitioned to name Cardi B's residence their primary home. The ex-Migos rapper is asking that he and Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Almanazar, each be responsible for their own legal fees, TMZ has reported. Furthermore, he is also requesting that their marital properties be divided evenly.

The motion for joint custody comes months after Cardi B filed for divorce in August 2024, having tied the knot in 2017. The two have been embroiled in legal woes since then and have been involved in many a public feud. As reported by E! News, in a since-deleted post on X, Offset once said of his former partner:

“Stop capping to these ppl to make yourself look like the hoe it ain't the look,” he wrote in the post. “u a fire women good music but u focus on d--k and tryna make me look bad.”

Cardi B shot back with accusations of her own, as she said during a January 14 conversation on X Spaces:

"I ain't listen after you and your momma robbed me. Yeah, you and your mom robbed me cold. Wiped my nose. Told you stop f--king playing with me.”

At the time, the I Like It rapper failed to clarify what she meant by getting robbed by Offset and his mother, though she also accused him of using their kids to delay finalizing their divorce.

“You wanna talk about, you haven't accepted the divorce because you not gonna agree on my terms 'cause you just wanna see the kids,” she continued. “You wanna see the kids? You just called your daughter for the first time this year, yesterday. Your newborn. You love your kids so much and you didn't bought them s--t for Christmas.”

According to TMZ, since her divorce from Offset, Cardi B has been living independently. However, as of late, she has allegedly been "getting to know NFL star Stefon Diggs," the outlet states, while her former partner has been spotted with a few models. Their divorce proceedings remain ongoing.
