Media personality Khloé Kardashian revealed what her daughter "True" thinks about her relationship with ex-partner and basketball player Tristan Thompson.
During the March 6, 2025, episode of The Kardashians titled “Khloéwood”, the Kardashian sister went on a car ride with her friend Malika Haqq. As they drove, Khloé Kardashian said:
“True thinks me and Tristan are married.”
As the clip from the episode went viral, social media platforms shared their thoughts about the situation. For instance, one Instagram user (@_liyahfrmig) wrote:

Online commentators stressed the importance of being honest with kids while others criticized Malika.
“Biggest mistake parents make. Your kids can handle more than you think when you’re honest with them,” a netizen (@thecooldc) advised.

Many Instagram users suggested that even though Khloé Kardashian tried to protect True, her approach was wrong.

Khloé Kardashian shares how she would educate True about relationships
Khloé Kardashian also shared her concern that she doesn’t want True to grow up thinking marriage means living separately, avoiding affection, or lacking closeness. She hopes her children will one day witness a loving, affectionate relationship and understand what a strong partnership looks like. Malika said:
“It’s just probably better for her. It’s not like she would really understand and it’s, it’s okay.”
Khloé responded:
“It is the right thing to do, in my opinion. Get married, have kids. That’s what I wanna teach her.”
While she plans to explain things to True when she is older, Khloé Kardashian believes that children should be shielded from adult issues. She also mentioned that True was upset upon learning she hadn’t attended college. Malika chimed in, saying if they had gone to college, they would likely be married by now, and Khloé agreed.
Though no longer together, Khloé and Thompson share a daughter, True, and a son, Tatum. According to Today, in an episode of The Kardashians, Thompson reflected on their past and expressed his desire to change for the sake of his children. He acknowledged that as they grow older and interact with classmates, he never wants them to feel ashamed of him as their father.
Khloé Kardashian responded saying she believes he has a good heart. She pointed out that everyone makes mistakes, but not everyone’s missteps play out in the public eye. Encouraging him to focus on the future, she reminded him that his past doesn’t define him and that he should carry himself in a way that makes his children proud.
