Kanye West, generated yet more controversy after making disparaging comments towards Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s children. In a now-deleted post on X (previously known as Twitter), Ye used a derogatory term to refer to the couple’s seven-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir, sparking an uproar online. And now, a few hours ago, he posted about it yet again. The backlash came swiftly; fans, celebrities, and even Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, tried to speak out on behalf of the family.

The Controversial Post

In the shocking late-night social media rant, Kanye West questions the intelligence of Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s children — implying having such children who are disabled was a “choice.” The post spread quickly and went viral with screenshots circulating on social media before Ye deleted it.

"Wait, has anyone seen Jay-Z and Beyonce's younger kids? They're r******d. No, like literary, and this is why artificial insemination is such a blessing. Having r******d children is a choice." - West wrote on the deleted tweet on X.

Tina Knowles Responds

Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, wasted no time in hitting back. Firing off a statement on Instagram, she hit back at Kanye West's comments, though she later changed the captions.

"It’s hard to remain positive and classy in the face of ignorance and evil. But I know that no weapon formed against me or my family shall prosper. This battle is not mine, but the Lord's, I know that God has got this." - Her original caption read.

The History of Kanye and Jay-Z’s Feud

Kanye West and Jay-Z known to be best buddies as they used to be, have since been years in Cold War. The two worked together on the acclaimed 2011 album Watch the Throne, but tensions started to flare when Ye publicly called out Jay-Z for not coming to his wedding to Kim Kardashian in 2014.

The feud reached a crescendo in 2016 when Kanye West accused Jay-Z of not supporting him. In response, Jay-Z addressed the fallout in his song, suggesting that Ye’s behavior had made it hard to keep their friendship intact.

Though there have been signs of reconciliation — they were photographed together at Diddy’s 50th birthday party in 2019, for example — their relationship never fully recovered. Ye’s recent remarks about Jay-Z’s children appear to have dashed any hope of reconciliation going forward.

What's Next?

Kanye West's multiple remarks add to the long list of controversies that have surrounded him in recent years. From anti-semitic rants to erratic political statements, his public persona has become increasingly divisive. Many fans who once supported him have distanced themselves, and this latest attack on children has only fueled calls for him to be permanently de-platformed.

Now we have to wait and see how Jay-Z responds to this.
