Rapper DDG, aka Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., shared an X post on March 10, 2025. His post comes at a time he has expressed concerns about not being allowed to meet his son Halo. Taking to X, he wrote:

“i wanna move to Lagos.. i’m tired of being in America.”

DDG’s post was circulated by various social media platforms. While some seemingly pointed out the drawbacks of moving to Lagos, others noted that it wasn’t a good idea. One Instagram user (@squeak.25) wrote:

“Do whatever you gonna do… just stop telling the public…. We don’t care.”

Netizens said DDG was trying to get attention while others noted that Lagos might have surprises for him.

“He is already complaining about travelling 2 hrs to see his kid now this? Im convinced he just wants attention,” a social media user (@trojansigma) pointed out.
“Lagos will welcome you in its own way. Just be ready for impossible surprises, daily doses of Lagos shocker’s and much more,” an online commentator (@nikki_soyo) shared.

Many Instagram users pointed out that moving away from his kid wasn’t a good idea for the rapper.

“Moving into Lagos doesn’t change the fact you’re still American,” an internet user (@creole_bae) clarified.
“So you complain even more about how you barely get to see ya kid cause you moved across the world and it’s not fair and you have no power but on the internet . Stop using the internet as a diary,” another Instagram user (@essentiallyerica324) explained.
“Move further from the child you are complaining about not being able to see! Makes perfect sense,” a netizen (@heybrittanyjoy) commented.

Halle Bailey and DDG parted ways in 2024

DDG dropped a track produced by Cash Cobain on March 8, 2025, addressing the reported custody issues over his one-year-old son. In the song, he seemingly expressed frustration over the situation, emphasizing that his son meant everything to him.

Halle Bailey took to Instagram to explain why she hasn't been posting, mentioning that both she and her son have been feeling unwell. The former couple welcomed their son in December 2023 and announced their split in October 2024. Despite their breakup, DDG previously shared that they still have deep respect and care for each other.

He described their bond as strong and said they remain close friends while co-parenting their son. The rapper shared another X post on March 10, 2025. Mentioning his grief, he wrote:

“Being sad for more than 24 hours is a choice.. life goes on, keep it pushin.”

On March 9, 2025, DDG shared that he wants to avoid going to court because he believes it would complicate the situation. He explained that legal proceedings require revealing personal details, which could become public. His main concern is simply being able to spend time with his son, which he says he hasn't been able to do.

DDG also addressed concerns about his online presence, pointing out that his son is never involved in most of his live streams. He emphasized that his content is completely separate from his role as a father and that he intentionally keeps his child out of that space.
