The charges against online streamer Johnny Somali are stacking up as the days go by. Johnny Somali, whose real name is Ramsey Khalid Ismael, is an American online streamer who proudly calls himself an internet troll. Currently, Ismael is being detained in South Korea on five charges that began back in October 2024.

In one of his latest antics, he was charged for an AI deepfake of BongBong, who is a Korean streamer. This is the charge that will put him in prison because there is no other way around it. Jail time is considered "mandatory," and there are no fines for this charge. Referring to the content he makes and the latest charge against him, Somali says,

"It is stressful, you sacrifice yourself. I think when I’m sent to prison, I’m gonna be like, ‘Ugh.’ If, if…and I think at that point there’s no more Johnny left, I’ll go f*cking crazy." - Johnny Somali admits.

What did Johnny Somali do while he was being detained in South Korea?

Johnny Somali has been banned from major streaming platforms such as Twitch and Kick because of his ra**ist antics. However, he does use Rumble to stream while exploring different countries. Somali is known for creating chaos, this includes his trips to Israel, Japan, and now South Korea.

Ismael went to South Korea on September 27, 2024, and has since been arrested and detained in the country because of four, now five, charges against him.

He was charged by the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office on November 11, 2024, on the grounds of "obstruction of business". This was related to the time when he spilled ramen noodle soup over the table at a convenience store.

Another charge against him was on the grounds of the "Minor Crimes Act". Somali was walking around carrying rotten fish, disturbing commuters, playing loud music, and dancing in public. These acts resulted in two charges under the Minor Crimes Act.

The last charge was the AI deepfake he created of South Korean streamer BongBong without her consent. With the last one, he was charged under the Special Act on Sexual Violence Crimes.

How did Johnny Somali respond to the prospect of going to prison?

Somali responded by saying that the only way the authorities can stop him from posting his crazy content is by putting him in prison. He also said,

"It’s the life we live, and the life we chose. Even when I went back home, even when I came back from Japan, I was in solitary confinement for 110 days. I was like, itching, I’m bored... It makes life more interesting. It does, in a way.” - Somali shared.

Johnny Somali has not shown any remorse or concern about the consequences of his actions. His recent posts are controversial in nature, despite the legal repercussions he is currently facing.
