The discussion started when an X user named Imtiaz Mahmood shared some tough times Rowling had. At the tender age of 27, Imtiaz noted Rowling went through the grueling experience of an abusive marriage. Banks responded by suggesting that Rowling’s views on transgender topics might be influenced by her personal experiences.

Banks criticized anti-trans rhetoric and argued that discussions should focus on preventing violent crimes instead of debating gender identity in sports or public spaces.

“Highkey all this anti-trans stuff is really just giving the weird people who solicit transwomen for s*x and murder them more fuel to become murderous psychopaths. If you think a chaser psycho only limits his victims to transwomen and won’t also murder females, you’re f*cking r******d.”
