IShowSpeed talks about finally meeting with Jackie Chan during his China tour.
Darren Watkins Jr, better known through his YouTube tag, IShowSpeed, has been touring China for an IRL (in-real-life) stream since March 24. The Youtuber is known for his chaotic travel streams across the world, and this one was just as unhinged, especially since he backflipped at the Great Wall of China.
But that was not all that he did at The Red Dragon (China), as he revealed recently that he met Jackie Chan off-stream. He talked about his inspiring experience with the Rush Hour actor:
"I did everything I wanted to do - I met Jackie (Chan), I met Zhenwei Wang (actor), I met super idol. Yes, chat, I did meet Jackie, but it wasn't on camera. I did meet him, and it was very inspiring, and Imma really cherish that moment of me meeting Jackie. That really inspired me a lot. Jackie is a very inspiring guy, he inspired me to do better on our conversation."
IShowSpeed tour in China and meeting with Jackie Chan
While streaming from a bus in Mongolia, the streamer talked about his experience in meeting the famous Chinese actor and filmmaker, Jackie Chan towards the end of his China tour.
"W’s in the chat man. The China tour was great man. Everything was great, but good things got to come to an end, though," he started.
He then described that he met Jackie Chan and had an inspiring conversation with him. He further hinted at extending his tour and leading it to Japan:
"Chat, if we get to 38.6 (million subscribers) during this China tour, I will extend to go to Japan. Mark my words. Swear to god. On my dead aunt. You know I never go back on a promise."
IShowSpeed had first discussed meeting Jackie in a stream at the beginning of his tour when a fan had asked about it:
"Speed wanna meet Jackie Chan? That's in the works, y'all. Me and Jackie Chan is in the works. I gotta meet the...Chat Jackie Chan is like the king of China."
And though there wasn't any conclusive answer, on March 31 in a live on his Youtube account, he stated:
"Me, Jackie Chan? Bro, that is like 80% done. Me and Jackie Chan are like 80% done, done. I think it's gonna happen lowkey. I think it's gonna happen. I think it'll happen to y'all."
IShowSpeed visited Beijing and Shanghai and streamed Non-Stop for six hours. The videos for the streams aired on two separate days and had approximately 10 million views overall when they were first released. Due to these streams of his, the 20-year-old streamer gave an unfiltered and culturally rich review of the country, boosting tourism and the country's reputation across the world.
