Antonio Brown, a previous NFL star, announced that he would perform at Fyre Festival 2. For context, Fyre is a music festival organized by businessman Billy McFarland.

The first edition of the festival was supposed to take place in 2017. However, it turned out a nightmare for the attendees as there were logistical issues and the festival never happened.

In an exclusive X video posted by TMZ Sports, Antonio Brown shared the news saying:

“Hey, ya’ll. This is AB and I will be performing at Fyre Fest Part 2 in Mexico May 30th. Be there or be square and make sure you put that sh*t on.”

It is noteworthy that the news has only been confirmed by Antonio Brown himself. No official update about his performance or the lineup has been put up on social media handles and the official website.

The second edition of the festival is scheduled to take place at Isla Mujeres Island. Fyre Festival recently made headlines after authorities and officials at the Isla Mujeres Tourism Board clarified that they had no idea about any such event taking place at the location. Meanwhile, tickets have already gone live on the official website, fyre.mx.

However, on March 4, 2025, McFarland shared an update about the festival in a self-recorded video. He addressed concerns about accommodations, emphasizing that this was a major focus after the issues with the first festival. He stated that contracts were in place for villas, yachts, and hotels.

Mcfarland also mentioned that two hotels contacted by the media had given misleading responses, claiming they had no connection to the event. He assured that Fyre Festival 2 was progressing with full transparency and that all updates would come directly from him.

Billy McFarland said Fyre Festival will have artists from different categories this time

During an interview with Today on February 24, 2025, Billy McFarland was asked why the partners agreed to work with him after what happened during the first festival. He said that the Fyre Festival wasn't about the past or him. It was about taking a strong vision. Concerning the performances and line-up at the event, he said:

“So we are going to have artists across electronic, hip-hop, pop and rock. However, it’s not just music. We might have a professional skateboarder do a demonstration we might have an MMA champion teach you techniques in the morning.”

Asked if the festival lineup was confirmed, McFarland explained that the appeal of Fyre Festival lies in the overall experience rather than just the artists. He expressed a desire for it to be one of the first festivals to sell out without announcing performers in advance. He added that artist reveals would happen over the next few months, though he was not responsible for booking talent. He added:

“It’s 2000 people, taking the risk, seeking the adventure and wanting to be there for the moment.”

Regarding his ability to attend the event in Mexico due to travel restrictions, he admitted he was uncertain and might have to settle for watching a live stream from his computer. He acknowledged that organizing the festival came with risks, given his past mistakes and the failure of the first Fyre Festival.
