Actor John Stamos, known for TV shows like Full House, Fuller House, and ER, is under heavy scrutiny online for being spotted at Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago home. Many people on the internet saw the actor's presence as political, pointing out that he supported Vice President Kamala Harris in the past.

According to a photo that went viral on X, the actor was "spotted speaking at Trump's Mar-a-Lago home this weekend" while holding a microphone in a tuxedo suit. The post went viral, gaining 2 million views. John Stamos responded to the situation, saying,

“I stand by the importance of healthcare”

In response to the backlash, John Stamos took to his Instagram stories and wrote,

“I accepted the invitation to emcee the Palm Beach Ray of Hope Gala — an evening dedicated to honoring and uplifting our frontline heroes. This nonpartisan event supports The Academy for Nursing and Health Occupations, a 501(c)(3) organization that trains 350-400 nurses every year, directly addressing the critical shortage of healthcare professionals in Palm Beach County.”

He added,

“Supporting nurses isn’t political — it’s essential. These are the people who care for us and our families when we need it most, and I believe we should show up for them with the same unwavering dedication they show up with every single day. I stand by the importance of healthcare, of service, and of investing in those who care for our communities.”

John Stamos emceeing Dancing with the Palm Beach Stars

The Palm Beach Ray of Hope Foundation hosted an annual charity event called "Dancing with the Palm Beach Stars" to raise money for nursing and healthcare education in Palm Beach, and John Stamos was the master of ceremonies.

A week before, Stamos uploaded on his Instagram story to advertise the event. He stated,

“We will be raising funds to support nurses in training and address the critical shortage of healthcare professionals in the Palm Beach community,”

Judges from Dancing With the Stars, Artem Chigvintsev and Karina Smirnoff, were also present at the event. Smirnoff later lauded the event and John Stamos' emcee skills. Sherry Sammons, a woman who had attended the event, wrote on her Instagram page,

"It was a fabulous night at the Palm Beach Ray of Hope gala, watching 11 dancers compete for the People’s Choice award. John Stamos was a great choice as emcee. Such a fun night.”

She continued,

“Several of the pros from Dancing With The Stars were there Melissa Butterworth you were a great judge along with Artem and Karina A night to raise money for The Academy For Nursing and Health Occupations. Thank you James Dobos for attending this fabulous night with me. The best.

The venue and the backlash

The venue selection garnered criticisms despite it being a charity event. Since the Mar-a-Lago is owned by President Trump and the non-profit organization is also one of the founders of the Trumpettes, a group which was established in 2015 with the goal of promoting Trump's administration among women. John Stamos' backlash was compared to Carrie Underwood's backlash when she performed at Trump's second inauguration.

Earlier, Stamos expressed his political statements, which he wrote on Instagram,

“We need a leader who prioritizes unity and strives to bridge the divides… My hope is that this election leads to a renewed focus on bringing people together, fostering dialogue, and seeking justice and equality for all.”

He ended the message with a blue heart.

Back in 2020, to bolster the Wisconsin Democratic Party, former actors of Happy Days attempted to stage a reunion to support the Wisconsin Democratic Party. Chachi's character, who was played by Scott Baio, an actor known for being a Trump supporter, expressed dismay. John Stamos offered to play the role and was fired by Baio, who took to X and wrote,

“This is what Hollywood has come to. #shameful #LiberalsAreDesperate.”
