Actor Nicolas Cage’s former partner Christina Fulton shared her reaction to the ongoing lawsuit concerning him and their son Weston. For context, Fulton filed a lawsuit against the actor and her son after the latter allegedly assaulted her following a mental health crisis in 2024.
She also claimed that Nicolas Cage enabled his son. Speaking to TMZ outside the court on March 3, 2025, Fulton was asked how she felt about being in court regarding her son. As she entered the court, she replied:
“Look, I wanna tell you, ladies and gentlemen that I have been heartbroken as a mother for a very long time. I have done this alone. I have been left alone, if not blocked. And I hold a lot of people responsible, especially the LAPD who left me on the ground bleeding.”
Both the father and son have denied the claims. Christina Fulton appeared frustrated with the LAPD, suggesting she didn't get the help she asked for.
She expressed her love for her son and acknowledged the broader issue of the mental health crisis. She also wanted other parents facing similar struggles to know they were not alone. Fulton said she would continue to support both them and her son.
When asked who she meant by "blocked," she clarified it was Nicolas Cage. Regarding her lawsuit against her former partner, she stated that she held everyone accountable. She believes Cage could have done much more as a father. When asked whether her son had received the necessary help, she said she wasn’t sure.
Christina Fulton alleged that Nicolas Cage bailed Weston out of jail
According to US Weekly, Christina Fulton recently filed legal documents accusing Nicolas Cage of neglecting their son Weston's alleged mental health issues and enabling his concerning behavior. Weston was arrested for felony assault in July 2024 but pleaded not guilty. He was released on a $150,000 bond. Fulton claimed she was injured while trying to help him during the mental health crisis.
She stated Weston's history of mental health struggles and violent incidents in her lawsuit. Besides, she alleged that Nicolas Cage was aware of the risks but failed to intervene.
Fulton had accused him of previously bailing Weston out of jail and covering his rent. Although Cage denied the allegations, he stated that Weston was responsible for his actions.
Christina Fulton was in a relationship with Nicolas Cage from 1988 to 1991. She is seeking damages for the severe physical, emotional, and financial impact she claims to have suffered after the alleged attack. She also accused Cage of encouraging Weston's reckless lifestyle, including drinking together despite knowing his struggles with substance abuse.
Weston and Fulton appeared separately in court for the assault trial previously. Speaking to BBC, Fulton's attorney, Joseph Farzam, said:
"This is a unique situation. Weston has a history of violence and his father has not stopped him, but enabled him, bailed him and made the situation much worse."
According to Daily Mail, he also stated that Fulton had no contact with Weston since the alleged incident. The altercation reportedly occurred on April 28, 2024, when a verbal dispute escalated into physical violence.
