A few hours ago, DJ Akademiks went live to share with his followers that he will be flying to meet Kanye West for a live interview. Akademiks missed his flight which led to an unprompted live where he tells his followers that he has been talking to Kanye through the phone. According to Akademiks' perspective, Kanye is "cool as hell."
Akademiks was also given the green light by Ye to ask him anything he wanted to. Ye told him to,
"Ask whatever you wanna ask. He said, bro anything you wanna ask. Like I don't want to tell you what to ask me, but anything you want to ask, let me be me and you know, that can be a lot of things. But, this is kinda where we're at."
During their brief call, Kanye was transparent with Akademiks. He also mentioned the feud between Kanye and Jim Jones. Akademiks elaborated,
"He said Jim Jones brought Kanye into a meeting with crypto ni**as. Jim Jones got paid $2 million for introducing Kanye to the crypto ni**as... This is my perspective, Kanye is really hurt from how he felt this industry has used him... He feels hurt about a lot of stuff." - DJ Akademiks told his viewers.

A short clip from the livestream was posted on DJ Akademiks' X account, @AkademiksTV. He captioned the post as,
"Akademiks says he had a conversation with Ye before their interview and clarifies Ye is not a bad person he is really just trying to become so radioactive that the people will be afraid to use him because he doesn’t want to be betrayed and manipulated again" - @AkademiksTV wrote.
Akademiks also shared,
"He felt hurt by Ty Dolla $ign, he felt like Ty Dolla $ign wasn't getting a lot of sh*t going on. He taps in with him... Ty Dolla $ign gets paid $20 million or some sh*t based on them doing whatever."
He also adds,
"He said, I'm not even asking ni**as to say what I'm saying or agree with it. But why you gotta get on your Instagram and say 'I denounce this sh*t', 'I denounce him', 'I denounce hate speech'... Why can't you just be like, yo listen, whatever Ye got going on is what Ye got going on... He feels hurt by that".
Kanye also mentioned SKIMS during the phone call and expressed that he feels bad about that too. DJ Akademiks relayed that Ye helped his significant other build a company and
"...in a situation to come out. The same people who helped set up the things..." Akademiks trailed off.
DJ Akademiks continues to say that Ye's story is not his story to tell. He is not trying to "validate" how Ye is acting either. Towards the end of the clip, DJ Akademiks ensures his viewers and followers that they will be transparent with the interview.
