According to multiple Hollywood sources as reported by Page Six, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has been dropped by WME (William Morris Endeavor), a talent agency. While some reports claim she has been dropped, WME denies ending its partnership with Markle, leading to conflicting narratives about her current status in Hollywood.

Meghan Markle joined WME in 2023, a move seen as a strategic step to expand her brand beyond her royal identity. WME, known for representing high-profile names like wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and multiple Grand Slam winner Serena Williams, was expected to assist Markle with brand partnerships, business development, and television and film production.

According to Page Six, Meghan Markle had not met with WME CEO Ari Emanuel since January 2024. Insiders claim this was a turning point for Emanuel. Reports suggest WME struggled to manage Markle's public image due to alleged difficulties in working with her team.

In September 2024, WME hosted an Emmy Awards afterparty attended by stars like Brie Larson, Kevin Costner, and Javier Bardem. Markle’s absence from the event further fueled speculation about her status with the agency. The timing was particularly significant, as The Hollywood Reporter had just published an article titled Why Hollywood Keeps Quitting on Harry and Meghan, adding to speculation about their professional isolation.

WME has formally denied severing relations with Meghan, despite several allegations to the contrary.

“WME continues to represent Meghan and Archewell."

an agency representative said.

This isn't the first time rumors of Meghan Markle being difficult have surfaced. In a recent interview with 60 Minutes Australia, her former royal press secretary, Jason Knauf, reignited discussions about her alleged bullying behavior. Knauf claimed that she had bullied two personal assistants while she was still a working royal.

In an email which got leaked to Prince William’s then-private secretary, Knauf wrote:

“I am very concerned that the duchess was able to bully two PAs out of the household in the past year. The treatment of X was totally unacceptable. The Duchess seems intent on always having someone in her sights. "

His message continued,

She is bullying Y and seeking to undermine her confidence. We have had report after report from people who have witnessed unacceptable behavior toward Y.”

Following these allegations, Buckingham Palace launched an investigation in March 2021. Although the palace allegedly changed its HR policy without providing specifics, the investigation that took place at the same time as Meghan and Harry's Oprah appearance, remained private. Meghan's team has denied all accusations, calling them an attack on her character.

Five years after Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior royals, Vanity Fair published a piece in January describing Markle as behaving like a

"Mean Girl's teenager"

Markle is yet to reply to these allegations.

Meghan Markle has been working with Netflix on a lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, which was originally set to premiere in mid-January but was postponed due to the wildfires. The premiere date is set to next Tuesday. This is part of her calculated steps to strengthen her brand.

In addition to the lifestyle series, she also plans to relaunch her lifestyle brand As Ever, which he had to rename from Riviera Orchard following legal issues.

According to royal commentator, Christine Ross,

“The change of name aligns so much better with Meghan’s upcoming Netflix series, and the updated branding explains why we haven’t seen more from the American Riviera Orchard space."

she continued,

“It feels like Meghan and her team have taken the time to think through this massive brand launch and made the right choices for longevity of the brand. I think we can expect to see a comprehensive home and kitchen brand, with room to grow and evolve as Meghan’s projects grow and evolve.”

The brand is currently facing multiple legal challenges, including issues related to logo resemblance and name similarity. Markle is yet to respond to these, as Kolski, owner of As Ever Nyc has dropped the charges.
