SZA was probed about the possibility of Drake showing up on her and Kendrick Lamar's upcoming tour, prompting her to reply nonchalantly.
Host Jimmy Kimmel asked her how she would feel about Drake ambushing their Grand National Tour in Toronto in June when she made an appearance on his show this Tuesday, March 11. He alluded to Drake showing up on one of their two nights there, though she pretended she didn't know who he was talking about and pivoted the conversation.
Fans have since begun reacting to her response with appreciation, with many noting that Kimmel was trying to ignite a fire, though SZA managed to keep it under control. Here's how one user reacted, for instance:
"Gotta say, great PR response from her. Kimmel was tryna be messy. Sza deff could’ve dismissed it but she chose to answer in a way that wouldn’t bring issues. Good for her."
Even more chimed in with their own opinions:
"Can’t even have a interview without drake being mentioned," someone noted.
"Them two days bout to be canceled," another jested.
"Y’all act like you know these celebrities personally, like you don’t know what her and drakes dynamic was like so why are you trying to dictate how she should feel about him," one user pointed out.
"That was some good spin. Why people hating??" someone else questioned.
Check out what the rest of X is saying:
"She handled that very well," someone echoed.
"Drake always championed Sza. These celebrities are not real people man. Who tf acts like this in reality," another claimed.
"What I want in 2025 is these interviewers & podcasters to stop asking other artists about Drake & Nicki, then using that part of the interview as promo, some ppl actually see thru the bs," one more chimed in.
"Sza knows her bag bigger with Drake. Smart not to fall into Kemdrick foolery," an X user noted.
Users were visibly divided, though a large number of them appreciated the singer for her ability to steer clear of the drama.
SZA brushes off Jimmy Kimmel's questions about Drake: Watch the video
Jimmy Kimmel asked SZA, as seen around the seven-minute mark:
“You’re going to Toronto for two nights,” the host said. “Are you worried about it at all?”
To which she replied, as if to brush it off:
“Are you worried? I think it’s gonna be so fun.”
“What if you-know-who shows up to the show in Toronto?” Kimmel asked, referring to Drake. However, she responded as if she didn't know who he was talking about, as she jokingly asked, "Who knows who?”
In other news, SZA and Kendrick Lamar's track, Luther, has been dominating the Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart for three consecutive weeks. Just this Monday, Billboard confirmed the track's ranking, and it now ties with Kendrick's Not Like Us and Like That for the longest stay at the top of the chart.
The duo are slated to hit the road on April 19 in Minneapolis, MN, and it will wrap up on June 18 in Landover, MD. The two will traverse across cities like Houston, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Chicago.
