GOT7's long-awaited Thailand concerts, NESTFEST, set for May 2 and 3, were supposed to be a heartwarming reunion for Ahgases who had been eagerly waiting for the group's return. Initially scheduled for 2020 before the pandemic put plans on hold, the shows were even more meaningful with members Yugyeom and Youngjae preparing for their upcoming military enlistments.
However, excitement instantly shifted to fury when fans encountered major issues with the ticketing system. Organizers delayed the global ticket sale and extended the local pre-sale, which fueled outrage and discrimination allegations as it was revealed that locals and international fans were divided into separate queues.
On X (formerly Twitter), fans didn’t hold back their anger.
“This whole fiasco regarding the GOT7 Thailand concert is so sad! The old ahagases have been waiting for over 5 years for the concert! This was our dream! And now its so sad with 411 handling it! Dividing the fandom and all. I am sad and emotional. AHGASES DESERVE BETTER,” @pviiig7 tweeted.
“GOT7 and iGOT7 deserve so much better. I’ve never seen such discrimination against international fans. You should be uplifting your international guests, not pushing them away. This isn’t how you make people want to come to your beloved country,” @wtvrsans told off the organizers.
“Do you even get how much money and effort we int’l fans spent just to see GOT7? Giving locals ticket advantage - fine. But now the queue too? @411ent, are you scamming us? You gave fixed queue numbers then shoved us back 1500+ spots? That’s not just disrespect - it’s fraud,”@justrich0116 commented.
GOT7 members break their silence on NESTFEST ticket chaos: “I'm sorry about how everything turned out”
Following the backlash, the members took to the app to address the issue directly.
BamBam, evidently upset, explained the difficulties surrounding the situation:
“Before yall blaming I really want to show everyone what's going on behind, what is the truth. But it suck cause I can't. So many people will be affected by this. You know how upset I am? Got blamed on everything all the time without knowing the truth."
He responded under his tweet and continued:
“blaming and blaming. why do i have to coverup someone mistake. why do i have to coverup when no one is listening to a good advice. why do i have to coverup when social media is fast and alot just posting without permission”
Without calling anyone out directly, he added:
“i hope i can show you every details from the beginning so everyone can understand how upset i have and i mean ‘me’”
Mark then reassured fans that lessons had been learned:
“I understand there are so many things going on.. I'm sorry about how everything turned out. This wasn’t how we envisioned things to play out when we decided to hold this concert. We’ll make sure stuff like this won’t happen again in the future.”
Jackson also weighed in, emphasizing that fans remain the priority:
“What an unpleasant moment for everyone, What has been done can’t be undone at this point. Will try and resolve issues as soon as possible. This is suppose to be meaningful & fun. The priority is for our audience to have a good experience. Nothing matters other than that.”
For Jinyoung, the upcoming concert is something both the group and fans have been waiting for:
“I'm sorry for making you feel bad. This is a show that we've been waiting for a long time, so we'll do our best to organize and prepare until the end so that our fans who've waited for a long time can enjoy the show with a smile. Be careful. See you soon.”
Youngjae, dropping a sweet green heart emoji — a nod to GOT7’s official color — also spoke from the heart:
“Our Ahgase, we will also do our best to finish it up! I am always thankful and sorry.. Although it doesn't go as well as I wanted, I hope it will be a fun and enjoyable concert, and in order to do that, all 7 of us will try to finish it up better together! Thank you and I love you! See you soon Agase!!”
Leader Jay B closed out the group’s messages with a vow to make things right:
“There are only a few days left until the performance.. I will do my best until the end and organize the parts that are lacking or immature and take good care of them.. I just hope that it will be a festival for everyone. I am not very comfortable, but I will still organize it well until the end.”
Despite the rocky start, GOT7’s messages of reassurance have rallied Ahgases worldwide, proving once again that the bond between the group and their fandom is unbreakable.
Meanwhile, 411 Entertainment is yet to address the complaints.
