Model and entrepreneur Hailey Bieber has been trending on social media. The creator of the Rhode skincare line has garnered the attention of both fans and detractors by liking a viral video criticizing pop star and actress Selena Gomez and her music producer and songwriter fiancé, Benny Blanco.
Tiktoker Courtney Presto uploaded a video to the social media platform where she criticized a photoshoot done by Gomez and Blanco. The creator came out with another video where she showed her viewers a screenshot of Hailey Bieber (with her verified account) liking the previous video and throwing shade at Gomez. While asking Gomez's fans to not attack her, Presto revealed that she had initially been shady towards images of Gomez and Blanco. Further, Presto alleged that since Bieber liked her post, the model probably dislikes Gomez.
Netizens and fans of both Gomez and Bieber jumped on this revelation. While some reactions highlighted the bizarre and hilarious nature of Bieber’s social media activity, others, notably fans of Hailey Bieber, criticized Gomez and accused her of orchestrating the entire drama in order to garner support for her new album. On the other hand, a major share of the commenters who were fans of Gomez, were quick to disparage Bieber and emphasize the repetitive nature of online feuding and drama that never fails to rope in fans of the two women.
A spectator of the entire incident made a humorous observation. Taking to X to refer to Hailey Bieber, the fan wrote,

Fans of Selena Gomez emotionally defended the singer. One fan, who posted the TikTok video revealing Hailey Bieber's 'like' on X, wrote,
