Macaiyla recently took to X, reacting to a video that surfaced on April 6, 2025, in which Twitch streamer Zack Asmongold expressed his views on transgender children. He stated:
"Every trans kid is actually a victim of a parent with a mental illness."
Asmongold elaborated,
"If you're a kid and, like, you get fed a lot of propaganda, like, messaging, I feel like every... so, every trans kid is actually a victim of a parent with a mental illness. That's what I believe. You've got a kid that's 17, right? I mean, it's a little bit more... it's, like, not really as definitive. But, like, if you have a kid that's like pre-puberty and they're trans, your parents have a mental illness.
Macaiyla, known for her presence in the streaming community as well as for being the girlfriend of popular streamer Tyler1, responded too. She recalled that Asmongold had criticized her a year earlier for making her own comments about transgender individuals. Expressing her frustration, she wrote on X:
Revisiting Past Controversies Between Macaiyla and Asmongold
In August 2024, Macaiyla faced backlash for her comments regarding Algerian Olympic boxer Imane Khelif. She questioned Khelif's participation in women's boxing, referencing misinformation about the athlete's gender identity. In a post that seems to be deleted now, Macaiyla said that both she and Tyler1 did not support transgender individuals.
Addressing the backlash, she later apologized for her remarks, saying it was irresponsible of her to be that hateful and that it wasn't her intention. She also apologized to Tyler1 for speaking on his behalf.
Asmongold was among those who criticized her during that period. He expressed that her actions negatively impacted Tyler1's career. He stated:
Everybody knows she's annoying on Twitter every f**king day, and I feel bad for Tyler1, I'm going to be honest. You have a girlfriend or a wife that puts you in positions like this and damages your f**king career. He's got to go out and make statements, talking himself off of the bridge that she put him on. Holy f**k...
