Ahead of P. Diddy's trial in May, BBC has announced the release of a documentary on the hip-hop mogul, on April 28, 2025. The documentary is called P Diddy: The Rise and Fall. Journalist Yinka Bokinni will narrate the story of Diddy, or Sean John Combs, in the documentary, which was made public on April 23, 2025.
P Diddy: The Rise and Fall is the story of how Puff Daddy became the artist he is, and also talks of his downfall. According to its description, the documentary will focus on:
"the world that propelled Diddy to stardom – and the system that may have protected him for years".
It will also shed light on the legal issues of the rapper, and his ultimate downfall.

As mentioned, Journalist Yinka Bokinni, whose real name is Olayinka Leigh C Bokinni, will host the documentary. Bokinni is a British radio and TV presenter, who is known for her work with Capital Xtra and BBC Radio 1. Yinka will be talking to people who have been working with and have been close to Diddy, to help viewers get a deeper insight into everything that has happened recently.
Yinka also expressed how she feels about the opportunity to host the BBC documentary. She said:
"My job is to tell stories — but never did I imagine I’d be telling this one... Investigating the alleged actions of Diddy has forced a spotlight onto the darker side of an industry so many of us dream of belonging to. We sang his songs, bought into the lifestyle, watched the shows and wanted more."
She added:
"This has been an emotional, sometimes difficult experience. And with a trial on the horizon, what happens next will no doubt be gripping — in the most sobering way."
Diddy made an appearance in court last week to request that the judge delay his trial, which was bound to happen in May, but his request was denied. Since no cameras were allowed in the court room during Comb's appearance, a sketch of the rapper revealed that his hair and beard have turned grey and long. It seems as if he might have also lost some weight during his time at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
You can watch the P Diddy: The Rise and Fall documentary on BBC Three and iPlayer.
