Police responded to a 911 call reporting gunshots and a woman being dragged into a residence, according to reports. When they got to the scene, two men, including Bailey, tried to flee. According to Paige, Bailey was seriously injured in the incident as he leaped over fences and eventually died from his wounds at Grady Marcus Trauma Center.

But officials have maintained that officers did not discharge their weapons and that there were no gunshots in connection with Bailey’s death. An autopsy has been performed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) to confirm the cause of death.

“To be very clear, the injury was not caused by the officers on the scene. It occurred when the individual was fleeing.”- Clarified Lt. Smith.
