The legal feud between rappers and former friends Terrell “A$AP Relli” Ephron and Rakim “A$AP Rocky” Mayers has concluded.
After weeks of trial, the 12-person jury acquitted Rocky in a felony assault case. The trial was broadcast from the beginning and also captured the LA jury’s verdict. As soon as his acquittal was announced, A$AP Rocky jumped to hug his partner Rihanna. After displaying his elation, the Show of Hands rapper thanked the jurors by yelling,
“Thank y’all for saving my life.”
The “not guilty” verdict also got many to react on social media, including Adam “Adam22” Grandmaison. On his No Jumper podcast, Adam22 even dialed A$AP Relli to get his reaction, but the rapper immediately hung up. The moment was recorded during the podcast and later was posted by Adam22 via the official No Jumper X account (@nojumper).
Reacting to the clip of A$AP Rocky’s court trial, Adam22 said,
“Rocky is a free man. It’s pretty insane.”
He further talked about how many people were suggesting that Rocky should have taken the plea deal, which could have gotten him a six-month sentence. Adam22 continued:
“I saw so many people get VladTV clips off of saying, ‘Damn he should have took that six months. Why the **** is he risking 20 years? He should have took the six months. Vlad still for sure has a lot of clips in the stash. They’re going to come out over the next week of people saying that.”
After talking about the acquittal for a few more minutes, Grandmaison decided to call A$AP Relli. As soon as the No Jumper host mentioned his show’s name, Relli disconnected the call.
A$AP Rocky was accused of shooting at the former associate A$AP Relli in Hollywood

Relli accused Mayers of firing at him with a semi-automatic weapon in 2021. The alleged shooting happened in Hollywood on the night of November 6 after an altercation between the former friends. Months later, the LAPD apprehended Rocky from the LA International Airport, and he was released later.
Ultimately, assault charges were filed against Rakim “A$AP Rocky” Mayers by the LA County DA, but the trial didn’t start until January 2025. Rocky maintained his innocence and declined a plea deal. The deal offered him a 180-day prison time and three years of probation, along with a seven-year-long suspended sentence.
Rocky’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, claimed that pleading guilty and accepting the deal would have hampered the Babushka Boi rapper’s career. The defense also denied the use of a real weapon and instead claimed that A$AP Rocky was carrying a prop gun.
After rejecting the plea deal, Rocky would’ve been sentenced for more than two decades if found guilty. The Praise the Lord rapper was acquitted in the assault case. The rapper was overtaken by emotions as soon as he heard the verdict.
A$AP Relli, who was the alleged victim in the trial, has yet to issue a statement publicly.
