Millie Bobby Brown was recently spotted at Anfield along with Adolescence-famed star Owen Cooper ahead of the kickoff between Tottenham and champions-elect Liverpool. There was a festive atmosphere at the stadium as the Reds marched to their second Premier League title, marking the 20th such occasion when they have won the First Division title.
Both Owen Cooper and Millie Bobby Brown are childhood fans of the club, and Owen, at one time, even considered becoming a professional soccer player before having a change of heart. The event marked the coronation of the league leaders who have won the Premier League at a canter this year, and there was a frenzied air in Liverpool as thousands of fans filled the arenas and stadiums to celebrate the event.
It's safe to say that the fans were not disappointed as Liverpool ran out comfortable winners by beating Spurs 5-1. Several celebrities were present at Anfield yesterday, with James Nelson-Joyce from This City Is Ours also making an appearance at the event. Fans were surprised to see Millie Bobby Brown in the stands, as many fans were caught unawares about her soccer allegiances:
"She’s a Liverpool fan??", questioned one surprised fan.
"Didn't realise Millie was a Main Stand Ultra. Tell her to get to Eddie's before the Arsenal game if she wants", quipped another.
"Didn't know her from Stranger Things was a Red", remarked another fan.
"I cannae believe they are actual actors, turns out being natural human beings is the toughest acting job out there", another fan chimed in.
"After the match let them release stranger things I am tired of waiting" pleaded yet another fan.
The reactions didn't stop there, as there were some disgruntled fans who accused Millie Bobby Brown of stealing their thunder:
"Only turns up for the League title clinching game, where u been for the rest of the season", wrote one fan.
"Why did you give her tickets like she follows the reds home and away but I can't get 2 together for me and my lad?", complained another.
"Your not a liverpooo fan your from Bournemouth", mocked another fan.
Although she hails from Bournemouth, this wasn't the first time that Millie Bobby Brown has spoken about her fondness for the club. Back in an interview conducted through the Liverpool club in 2016, she spoke about her passion for the game and what drove her towards the club:
"When I was younger, my dad got me a whole Liverpool kit. My brother is a massive fan, and it’s kind of like a legacy. I didn’t really have a choice! Now I watch them and I love Liverpool. I watch the games.”
I’ve never really had the chance to go. "Tickets are always sold out or there’s always something wrong. That would be amazing. When I watch on TV, I want to be there – it seems so uplifting. The atmosphere is incredible. When I go to conventions and walk out on stage, it’s like ‘wow!’ and I feel like that’s constant when watching the game."
Millie Bobby Brown couldn't possibly have picked out a better time to visit the iconic stadium. With so many exuberant fans enjoying the extraordinary achievement, there was a huge celebratory atmosphere at Anfield. A number of club legends from throughout the history of the club were present at the stadium, as was Liverpool owner and FSG group chief John W. Henry.
Liverpool FC is now tied with Manchester United FC for the most English First Division titles. Manchester United FC is having a rough year too, currently placed 14th in the Premier League table and on track for its worst finish in the Premier League era.
Millie Bobby Brown, on the other hand, is currently busy filming Enola Holmes 3, which is scheduled to release either in late 2025 or early 2026.
