Megan Thee Stallion has gained a little edge over Tory Lanez amidst their legal battle. Recently, the Mamushi singer filed a motion requesting a federal court to hold Lanez in contempt for his allegedly "disruptive [and] inflammatory" conduct during a deposition from behind bars.
The deposition is over Megan’s defamation lawsuit against Milagro Gram. The Hot Girl Summer crooner accuses the Gramz of allegedly spreading defamatory news of Megan during the controversy with Tory Lanez.
Megan Thee Stallion's legal team accuses Lanez of targeting Ms. Pete’s counsel.
“Mr. Peterson targeted Ms. Pete’s counsel with petty, misogynistic jabs about her hair color and appearance – an act of pure harassment intended to belittle rather than respond to the questions," Megan The Stallion’s lawyers wrote.
Following the lawsuit, Judge Cecilia Altonaga granted the motion on Thursday, April 17, 2025. As reported by Hot New Hip Hop, Lanez has been requested to respond to the sanctions request before April 30, 2025.

According to a report made by Meghann Cuniff, Tory Lanez was not cooperative during an out-of-courtroom deposition. The rapper's contempt for the justice system and his prosecutors is well known, and he made that obvious during the meeting.
However, his latest incendiary remarks and personal jabs at Megan Thee Stallion’s counsel led to him being held in contempt in court.
According to Meghann Cuniff, other attorneys present at the meeting distanced themselves from the rapper, drawing a clear line that they weren't with the rapper on this one.
“We have no control over him or his conduct, and frankly, his conduct wasted our time as well," Gramz's lawyer reportedly stated.
Apart from throwing jabs at the counsel, Lanez also pretended not to know the meaning of words like ‘meet,’ ‘discuss,’ and ‘approve.’

Cuniff also shared images of documents that allegedly show excerpts from Tory Lanez’s deposition. When asked if he had read the documents needed to prepare him for his deposition, Lanez replied.
“Did you review the documents on the color of the dye you were going to use for your hair?”
After being prompted to answer the previous question, the rapper replied with :
“But you didn't answer my question, and I feel like it's starting to be one-sided. Like you are not allowing me to understand what I need to understand so I can understand.”
“Because your hair is distracting me. There is a reason for what I am asking. Your hair is distracting me,” he added.
Megan Thee Stallion’s counsel ended the deposition.
“Okay. I'm going to go off the record and stop the deposition at this point. Let's take a five-minute to ten-minute break,” she said, to which Tory responded, “Enjoy yourself.”
