Internet stunned as Kanye West claims Playboi Carti showed up to his hotel with a gun

Kanye West's venture into Twitch streaming was cut short a mere 7 minutes into the skit. However, the stream wasn't without its moments, as Kanye found time to touch base on several topics within that short period. During his stream, he touched upon topics ranging from his industry rivalries, his relationship with Kim Kardashian and Elon Musk, among others.

The most striking moment, however, was when he claimed that Playboi Carti visited him at his abode at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles with a gun. He then proceeded to recount the conversation he had with Carti in which he said:

"I got to tell you another thing that Carti said to me on the phone, n***a. "This n***a told me he was at the Chateau [Marmont hotel] with a gun, n***a. What that mean, n***a? And the n***a say he don't be on the Internet. It's like, if you don't be on the Internet, what are we talking about, then? I ain't say nothing, then."

While some fans took the alleged claims with a pinch of salt, others poked fun at the absurdity of the situation:

"I mean... If you don’t be on the internet how you know I said something", joked one fan

"If youre not on the internet, then i aint say nothing then" LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO", laughed another

"Carti showing up like it’s GTA is actually insane. Kanye always has wild stories but THIS?? I need more context like… immediately", commented another user

"We all know Carti isn't like that", claimed a fourth user

The reactions didn't stop there, as some fans were firmly camped in Kanye's corner:

"OMG HE A GOON", quipped one fan

"I’m so upset that in all these clips, he seems to be aggravated by everyone, everyday and I feel his explanations", empathized another

"This how Carti was gonna pull up", joked another

Having collaborated to deliver several hits like Go2DaMoon and Off The Grid, the relationship between Kanye West and Playboi Carti was once built on trust and admiration. However, things started to go south after the release of Carti's album MUSIC, when the Magnolia-famed star allegedly upset Kanye for not letting him feature on one of the tracks in his album.

Kanye West went on a rant on X to settle the scores, accusing Carti of turning his back on him. This led to Carti eventually coming up with the now-infamous retort, which in turn only fueled further public rants by West. Reports are rife that relations between the two artists have soured greatly, and the latest allegation only adds to the escalation of underlying tensions between the two.

Kanye West has been mired in controversies of late, and his latest statement on Twitch has added another chapter to his ongoing beef with Carti. Even as the statement was lapped up by fans on social media, the reactions to the allegations were mixed. Meanwhile, Playboi Carti's camp stayed mum, which only led to speculation about whether the allegations were true or not.
