In her conversation with People Magazine, Kandi Burruss revealed she works "hard" but also makes sure to "play hard." She added on to the secrets of her 11-year-long marriage with Todd and stated,

"I think we are both like that. And really love family and all of that. So that's what keeps us connected.”

The couple has previously spoken about their relationship and what they have learned from their marriage. In a 2022 interview with People Magazine at the Ebony Power 100 Gala, the singer elaborated on the "real understanding" she shares with Todd and noted,

"He pushes me in a way that I can't say I had never experienced before being with him. I really feel like he's my teammate in life."

Kandi Burruss explained that even with differences, they try to reach the middle ground and added,

“We have intertwined our wants and desires. We have all these dreams, and sometimes, I'll be all out of the box, but he'll still be like, 'Okay babe, let's do it.’ “
