Joe Budden, a rapper and podcaster best known for his single "Pump It Up," has been allegedly sued by his neighbors. They claim that Joe tried to enter their place while he was naked.

The neighbors have filed a civil lawsuit against Joe, per TMZ Hip Hop. In the lawsuit, the neighbors claimed that Joe tried to intimidate and retaliate against them after they filed a complaint about excessive noise and marijuana smoke.

Joe started The Joe Budden Podcast after retiring from recording in 2018, and the show was loved by the netizens and, to date, has around 800 episodes.

Why is Joe Budden being sued by his neighbors?

Back in December 2024, Joe's neighbor charged him with disorderly lewdness. They claimed that he was standing completely naked in front of their door and tried to enter their apartment. Later, Joe Budden explained that he was sleepwalking and entered the neighborhood by mistake. He was then acquitted of the charges.

Describing the above issue in his podcast in January 2025, he said:

''These people decided to misuse some of the systems that are in place for real victims... They went to the police to file a report to say that Joe Budden was outside of their door m*sturbating and they don’t know if I was there with the intention to ‘r-word’ her and her family.''

He continued:

''So, what seemed like a simple sleepwalking medical condition turned into something much bigger. So I’ve been gone [from the podcast] for a month, ’cause I had a civil suit.''

According to TMZ Hip Hop, the same neighbors, John and Yuliya Aksoy, have now filed a civil lawsuit. In the lawsuit, they claimed that Joe tried to intimidate and retaliate against them.

This comes after they filed a complaint about loud noises coming from his place during the podcast recording and weed smoking in the common area. Reports indicate that the complaint was filed before the December 2024 incident, where Joe appeared naked on the neighbor's premises. The complaint was filed by attorney Thomas Mirigliano on behalf of the couple.

In addition, they are also suing Joe's podcast co-host Melyssa Ford, and the condo association. The neighbors also mentioned an incident where Joe tried to disturb them deliberately. They cited an episode from his podcast dated October 19, 2024, and said he intentionally played loud music and faked gunshots and siren sounds for eight minutes straight.

They also said that Joe would pass racist remarks on them in person and also on his podcast.

Following the complaints and the ruckus Joe created, he was banned from the condo. However, he came back a week later. His attorney, Nima Ameri, told TMZ Hip Hop that the lawsuit and complaints filed by the couple are nothing but a money grab. She also went on to say that the couple is racist themselves.

Joe Budden remains active in the media landscape through his podcast, public discussions, and social media. The date for the hearing of the case has not yet been decided.
