Jillian Lauren, wife of Scott Shriner, has been arrested in Los Angeles for allegedly firing at LAPD officers. The incident dates back to April 8, when police officers chased three people who ran from a hit-and-run towards the Eagle Rock neighborhood.

Out of the three suspects, one ran behind a house, where Jillian Lauren, wife of Weezer's bassist, resided. On arrival, officers saw Jillian Lauren in her yard holding a handgun. According to the reports, the LAPD requested multiple times that Lauren drop the gun. However, the woman then pointed the gun at the police officer, after which police shot her, causing a non-life-threatening injury.

According to ABC News, Lauren rushed to her house and came out with another woman and a kid. Scott Shriner was not present in the house at the time of the incident. Later, Lauren was taken to the hospital and was charged with attempted murder. Jillian Lauren was released on $1 million bail after her arrest.

According to KTLA 5, police didn't confirm whether she actually fired at the police. However, the new statement given by Jennifer Forkish to the People Magazine says,

"Our investigation revealed evidence such as a shell casing and video footage showing she repeatedly ignored police commands to disarm and that she fired her weapon at LAPD officers. She was subsequently booked for attempted murder of a peace officer."

Some reports allege Lauren fired at officers, based on a statement from LAPD’s Jennifer Forkish citing a shell casing and video. However, earlier accounts and other sources only reportedly confirm she pointed the gun.

Jillian Lauren was not part of the hit-and-run

While Jillian Lauren was found by police holding the gun after the hit-and-run, she was reportedly not involved in the same. KTLA 5, a Los Angeles news station, covered the news, on which they stated,

"The LAPD says Shriner, who was not involved in the chase, came out of her home with the gun. The officers ordered Shriner to drop the handgun numerous times. Instead, she pointed the weapon at the officers, and they opened fire. Shriner was shot in the shoulder but not seriously injured."

Police recovered a 9 mm handgun from Lauren's house. As of now, one suspect in the hit-and-run of three has been arrested and has been held in custody by the police. His identity hasn't been revealed by the police yet.

Lauren’s court date is set for April 30, when she will face charges of attempted murder. The other woman who exited the house with her has been reportedly identified as her babysitter. However, her name has not been revealed as of now.

Scott Shriner, husband of Jillian Shriner, hasn't given any statement on the legal situation as of now; however, he has stated that his wife is now 'alright.' The bassist is also performing at Coachella 2025 with his band Weezer.
