After three years of being together, Craig Conover and Paige DeSorbo have broken up, according to a People report. In the final and 15th episode of Southern Charm Season 10, titled Arrested Development, Craig sits with his castmates Austen Kroll and Shep Rose, and talks to them about the split.
The reality series, known for its drama and display of extravagant lifestyles, ended on March 20, 2025. Other than the season's conclusion, fans were also sad to see the breakup of Craig and Paige.
Craig and Paige's relationship began in 2021 and, talking about how wonderful their time together was, Craig told his castmates:
"It's weird to mourn someone that's still alive."
Craig's implication was being sad about their relationship ending, to him, was almost like mourning a life that's no more.
Craig speaks up about his breakup with Paige
The series finale aired on Bravo and flashed forward to January, and has Craig opening up about his breakup to his castmates. He tells them how nice things were between him and Paige and how great Thanksgiving had been.
He adds everything was normal with Paige's parents, and then a couple of weeks later, he recalls, Piage called him to say that they needed to talk.
Austen Kroll, one of the main cast members of the series, asked Craig if the call had taken place before Christmas, and Craig confirms it did. Describing what happened next, he says:
"I was like, I can't believe this is like happening. And it was really calm. She's like, 'I need to find myself.’ And she's like, ‘I have to take control of my life again and we need to break up.'”
Craig adds how he couldn't tell Austen about the split when it happened because he didn't want the news to come out. He felt that if the news came out it would be a reality that he was not ready to accept yet. It is a reason he continued the Southern Charm press tour as if nothing had happened.
He also tells Shep and Austen of the time when Paige asked him to get her an engagement ring, and so he got one for her from New York. Howevfer, Piage then asked him to "hold it off," he recalls.
Craig also tells his castmates about how he was okay with moving to New York, to stay with Paige. Describing how Piage responded, he says:
“She asked me to raise kids in Manhattan and she's like. You will resent me forever if you have to live this life in New York.''
He continues:
“We were best friends, we loved each other, we had a great s*x life, we just checked so many boxes that you're like, where the f--- am I going to find ... how are we giving this up? It's weird to mourn someone that's still alive.”
After Craig tells his castmates about the breakup, Rose says:
''I just feel bad for the guy. Because it doesn’t sound like he was driving this bus.''
Paige announces the breakup
Paige announced the breakup in December 2024 during an episode of her podcast, Giggly Squad, which she hosts with Hannah Berner. Described her relationship with Craig, Paige said:
“I think I loved him so much that I tolerated too much. And now that I’m out of it and I look back on things, I’m like, ‘Oh wait, any time I had like, a career milestone, he found a way to like make it about him.''
She continued:
''That’s something that I look back on now, and I’m like, ‘Oh, wow, I really was very blinded. I had to like do a lot of damage control.”
The finale had notes of romance, drama, heartbreak, and a whole lot of entertainment throughout.
