More details on Bozoma Saint John's decision to share her fertility journey
Bozoma Saint John had an exclusive talk with People on February 27, 2025, where she revealed she was a little bit skeptical about sharing her fertility journey with the public.
"The thing is that when you open yourself up in such a vulnerable way, people can have judgment on it — and so there's criticism. People say I'm too old or I've had trauma before. Why am I putting my health through this? Am I sure this man loves me?"
The mother of one revealed that she had always been wary of people's opinions, and so "it's been a very tough exercise" putting her experience out there. However, Bozoma adds that the feedback she gets from women who have gone through or are going through similar things motivates her to be so open about her own experience.
"Oh, that has been the best part, really, honestly. And it's the reason why I feel so comfortable in doing it — is that people have been so open about their journeys because I'm sharing mine. And that's what keeps me going."
In addition to expressing how she felt about her pregnancy journey, Bozoma Saint John also spoke to people about losing her home in the L.A. fire.
"I think people get confused because they're like, 'Oh, it's your second home and therefore it's fine. You should be okay because you have a place to live.' I'm like, 'Are you completely out of your mind?' It's my home. I worked for it. Nobody gave it to me."
